The Woodside Hotel

We were given an overnight stay as a present from our daughter. Hotel was fabulous. Can't recommend highly enough! Had evening dinner then breakfast the next day, both first class. The staff were great too. Would definitely go back!

We held my husband’s 50th birthday celebration at the Woodside Hotel and we’re thrilled with the venue! I had excellent communication and collaboration with the owners, John and Liz, who were most helpful and easy going. They were accommodating with requests and answering questions. Their staff (Callum, Blair, Joe) were professional, friendly and accommodating. The village’s local chef at Cafe @No 16 catered our sit down dinner and buffet. The Woodside Hotel has fantastic public rooms to accommodate these set ups, plus the band we hired. Our guests loved the venue and those who stayed in the hotel were pleased with their rooms and the use of the kitchen. Overall a wonderful experience!

We stayed at the hotel recently for a joint 40th celebration in the family (13 adults & 11 kids) and the Woodside Hotel was the perfect venue for this type of occasion! The kids loved the table tennis and function room to run about in. All rooms where clean and very comfortable and John the owner was very helpful and answered any questions I had before hand, The first night we got Chef Xen in from For Food Sake catering who provided us with a 2 course meal which was delicious and meant we could enjoy our night without worrying about doing dishes and getting meals ready for 13 adult - would 100% recommend as the food was brilliant! We stay an hour away so I ordered my balloons for the celebration via zsa zsa zsu balloons and event who were fabulous, the balloons were delivered to the hotel for our arrival. I would recommend the hotel to anyone and we are hoping to return in the near future!

The Woodside (exclusive use) Hotel is such a gem of a find and great value for money. It’s really quite magical having an entire hotel to yourself. What the owners John and Elisabeth McTaggart have done by changing from a traditional hotel to an exclusive use venue (with 13 ensuite bedrooms) provides large groups of family and friends with a unique experience and the ability to make some very special memories. John the owner was very helpful and great to deal with. We booked 2 nights (October 2022) for our family weekend break and there was 21 of us. With ages ranging from 18 to 82 everyone was accommodated - from cosy fireside chats in the stunning Clipper room, to table tennis or watching a movie on the big screen in the Grant room (the Woodside can arrange bar service if you wish, but we really enjoyed the fact that it was just us there). There’s a lot of fun to be had serving your own drinks in the Clipper Bar and the younger members of our family particularly enjoyed listening to music and playing pool there. The Kelso room was where we had our evening meals and John put us in touch with Chef Xen from For Food Sake who did an amazing job catering for us at the hotel. All my family had a wonderful time at The Woodside hotel. Being able to spend quality time in such a beautiful place was precious and we will be booking again.

We used this venue for a company-wide corporate event and the accommodation was great. The Woodside Hotel is credibly spacious, clean, and everyone felt really comfortable and at-home there. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

We had a group of 18 from the U.S., and this was such a fun place to stay. The location and things we could walk to were amazing. The hotel itself was a treat. The pub rooms were both fun and beautiful. It was nice staying together but also having our own space. John and Liz are the best part though because they were always available for every need and wanted to ensure our time there was special. We had a busy schedule but many just wanted to come back to the hotel because it was so fun to hang out and to enjoy the area such as beachside runs and walks, old churches and graveyards, a nice playground, and good food nearby. John and Liz have an upscale deli called “McTaggert’s,” which has a great selection and met all the group’s dietary demands. The location is fantastic for getting to many of Scotland’s highlighted areas. We will definitely be back!

We hired the Woodside to host my husbands 40th. It was great to have a huge space that everyone could come together in. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the hotel. All rooms are comfortable spacious and clean. Everything needed for a self catering break is provided and theres lots of little extra touches that make it even better. The beer garden to the rear is fab for a drink in the sunshine and the event hall is perfect for parties. There is a few beautiful nooks and cranny’s to chill in too. The area of Aberdour and surrounding towns is coastal so only 10 mins walk to the beach and so many more place to explore! I’d highly recommend booking if you’re looking for accommodation to suit a large party of guests.

Amazing venue to hold any type of celebration. Added bonus of the en-suite bedrooms for yourselves and your guests. Having use of the kitchen was perfect to make the hot and cold buffet, then setting it all up in the room next door. The function suite was perfect and guest played pool in the bar. Due to being very fortunate with the weather the beer garden was used well, which is stunning. I honestly could not have picked a better venue for celebrating 30 years in business. The reception area was perfect for the photo booth which was used well. Immaculate Hotel, the owner John McTaggart was very helpful and such a lovely person. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone, and I will be definitely booking it again in the future. Five stars from me and my guests.

I hired this lovely venue for my 30th Birthday Weekend Away. We had the most amazing time. The space on offer is incredible and suited our every need. John was very accommodating and helpful. There are so many facilities to make the weekend enjoyable and there is plenty of parking.
