The hotel was much better than expected. The room was clean and tidy and the fridge had drinks in it which were replaced when used. The food was good and plenty of choices at each meal. The pool was clean, but cold, and the surrounding poolside was very clean and tidy. Albena itself was also very nice and very clean although as it was nearly the end of the season it was very quiet. Would recommend anyone to visit but it’s not somewhere that is for parties and nightlife so if that’s what you’re looking for then try Sunny Beach

When we arrived we were given our armbands and sent to our booked “villa” .. this is where the issues started.. the “villa” was definitely not big enough for a family of 5 and was only stocked for maybe 1 person, it took us a while to realize that there was no door on the shower room meaning that we were “in show” to the rest of the family once we stepped out.. the villas look very dated and are very cramped we then went to reception to complain who then moved us rooms the day after.. The rooms we moved to were on the 3rd floor meaning we had to carry luggage and our child/buggy.. up/down at least one flight of stairs to the lift by the bar and if the lift wasn’t working (which happened at least 5 times in the week we were there) we then had to walk back up those stairs to the other lift by reception and then walk half way round the hotel to our room. The restaurant is also 100m walk from the hotel, don’t think about trying to walk in 1 minute early, you are arrogantly told to get out until they open.. food is of very poor taste and quality often meat wasn’t cooked properly, no one of us got sick luckily, fighting with other customers about the amounts they took also happened when children of families took 6 pieces of meat or pizza with their grubby hands or adults stacking 20 slices of cake and half a tub of ice cream on a plate and then leaving most of it sitting there untouched and leaving.. when it came to the end of breakfast or dinner staff would turn the lights of leaving everyone eating in the dark.. AC units are moldy and leak all over your balcony Reception staff told us we could change money at the bank in town.. come to find out there is no bank.. and we could change at the hotel on the other side of the pool. the only thing saving this hotel from a 0 is the cleaners who replaced our towels and vacuumed everyday and the fact that the Aqua park was included in the price we went in 2019 and it was excellent.. now, sadly we’ve decided never to return here. Sorry

Vacationed with three children. The hotel is wonderful! The place is quiet, there are many trees. The aquapark is nearby, the entrance is free. Lots of entertainment for children. Animators work with children twice a day for 2.5 hours, and in the evening there is a disco for children. For adults, there is also entertainment with animators - water games, volleyball, pool games. To the beach by walk with children is 7 minutes, or a free bus takes you every 40 minutes. The food is excellent - you can choose something from for small children and the older ones are satisfied. Various fruits and vegetables. Lots of meat and fish. Fresh baked goods daily. Very good design of dishes and a very large selection. Many thanks and respect to the chef!!!!! Mini-bar is free in the room. The room is cleaned daily, towels are changed daily. The barmens are very nice. All hotel staff are very, very nice and polite. They speak in English, Polish and Russian. The internet is very weak in the room and on the territory - but this is even a plus, so the children sit on their phones less time! Our plane was late and wewew late for dinner, but a huge plate of food was prepared for everyone. I recommend this hotel!

We have stayed at this hotel a total of 7 times now, ranging from one night to 10 days - each experience has been consistent and we will hopefully keep returning! We love that you have free access to the aqua park - this makes all the difference to our family. We can go there in the morning and then maybe head down to the beach on the free bus in the afternoon. The all-inclusive aspect is brilliant (a real break from the kitchen for a busy mum!) the food is varied and plentiful and even fussy kids never go hungry. The only downside is the walk up the ramp to the restaurant - it is quite a trek with hungry kids or a pushchair. All the staff in and around the hotel are attentive and kind. They help you up the stairs with the pushchair (yes there are places not accessible via a lift), and they always hold the doors open for you - lovely little touches that make the overall experience better. We have found, as with everything in Albena in general - the prices have increased a lot in the last couple of years and this will make us consider if we would want to visit again in the future - the prices now suggest a true high end experience of an all-inclusive resort - but they don't have the facilities or activities to back this up.

We had visited the resort June 12-19, 2 adults and 2 children 10 and 12 y.o. We enjoyed the stay. Beginning with highly professional, polite and helpful reception staff - Melitsa, Vesela, Desislava and Dimchu and their supervisor. The facility is completely renovated - very modern rooms. A TV set, a minifridge. We did not use the safe, which costs 8 leva per day. Did not see the need of using it.. A open wardrobe and shelves in the room with clothes hangers. Some entry furniture. to hang a cap , a hat. the balcony had garden table and 2 chairs, a little cloths drying stand. Room cleaning and bed changing. Honestly, if taking showers, I do not need my bedding changed more often then 1-2 times a week. Shower+tolet room: shampoo+shower gel, soap bar, hair drier, a lovely 2-sided mirror. Towels changed everyday. Thanks to the cleaning ladies for their diligent work. Nori was fast to respond to any questions and help out. Beach towels are given at the reception upon request. A card for each towel is kept at t the reception. The towel can be chanced once in 24 hours. The restaurant. Delicious and varied food. If to eat moderate and not trying all at once - it wouldn't get boring, as some compared in the revies we read before coming. Breakfast: muesli, dried fruits, tetra pack milk, hot milk from the coffee dispenser. all types of eggs; scrambled, deviled, hard boiled, sote vegetables, sausages, pancakes etc. Delicious pastry. Lunch and supper: older children food stand for lunch and supper. i.e. French fires, sausages, nuggets., .salads, vegetables, pickled beets and olives, sauces, soups. European and local cuisine. Juices and great herbal teas, as well as black and green ones. different kinds of coffee, hot chocolate...and non alcoholic beverages, beer. Local alcoholic drinks. Seasonal fruit - cherries, apricots, apples, pears; exotic fruit - banana, kiwi, oranges, grapefruits. Great bread. Since we came when it was raining we went to the indoor pool. The Aquapark was next to our place, so we gladly spent some time there after coming from sea. We all enjoyed the slide rides and the floating lounging along the water channels. The road to the beach took us 10 minutes on foot. We found out there was a shorter way in our last day of stay. We did not take the bus shuttle, nor the train, nor the electric bus. The nature was beautiful and the birds singing, so we preferred walking. The beach was great. it's pretty wide and long. We have our resort assigned spot and our beach restaurant was next to it. We had ice-creams and lunches a couple of times. The children like it, particularly. Because they could go to the Aqua park without gong back to our resort restaurant on site, The umbrella and 2 long chairs per room are free of charge starting with the 3rd row. We always hd a place to lounge. And we liked it thet the resort has itsown beach area. We staid in the A wing, park view. The A-la-carte restaurant, if you stay longer is free of char

The worst experience. Everybody is making loud noises in the night - they are partying and the reception doesn't do anything. The food is worst than execrable. More than disappointed. The plates are not clean.. You can see the last meal in very small pieces on the "washed" plates. This is not hygienic!!!!!!!!!!! Go there if you want to hear music all night, not to sleep and not to eat. More than that, the bathroom was not cleaned. The other people don't use masks for preventing the Corona virus at all!!!! And the hotel stuff doesn't say anything. Now i understand why they want you tu pay at the arrival and not at the check out.

We will start with the only positive point Very good bedding good complex but very aging For cleanliness 0 out of 10 never seen that in my life after 4 days not even a sweep bed only done on the 1st day Towel not changed we know Plainly at reception they immediately left us clean towels in a ball! Just a glass door to enter the shower no door to the bathroom and of course toilet never cleaned For the food varies but always the same thing if you like hot watermelon soft and cold fries you are in a good place On the other hand there has a barbecue very often grilled chicken prepared by the cook with a cigarette in his mouth it almost feels like home barbeuk between friends Pool toilet so clean that the lifeguard will do his business in the bush behind Staff a lot of bitter people finally 95% of the staff Pool towel schedule 9 to 10 in the morning And 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the evening So you go to the beach in the morning and you have a towel full of sand in the afternoon at the pool impossible to exchange So you say to yourself we go to the beach in the afternoon but be careful of the admonition that you bring back the towel at 6:30 p.m. 6th day the room and clean! Finally ! Lots of services close..bar in the middle of the swimming pool close they are expecting the high season..it is July 3rd 😂 For those who have the Aqua club luckily they have it there! At the top, nothing to complain about The beach 15 min walk…shuttle every hour until 5 p.m. Really a lot of negative points, at least the staff was friendly! Because in this complex you have a very bad image of Bulgarians, yet when you leave the hotel they are really very welcoming

So where is the best place to start? First of all, I have to say that when I read some of the reviews here, I puke, you should be ashamed of yourself. Because of the reviews I was about to rebook. I think some people forget that Bulgaria is one of the poorest countries and since 4 stars there are not comparable to 4 stars in Germany, everyone should be aware of that. The complex is very large and yes, there are a few things that are a bit broken and need to be replaced, but for me those were minor things. It also happens that the trash cans are full and tables aren't cleared immediately, but my god, with this number of people on the complex, it's normal for me and they really try. You could get a lot more out of this facility, but the staff is simply lacking. The rooms are small, but perfectly fine, also in terms of the furnishings (but let's be honest, you only sleep there anyway🤷‍♀️) also in the bathroom some things are only sporadically "complete" and I would have wished that maybe vacuumed every 2.3 days, otherwise the rooms are totally fine for the price. The staff is super friendly and the animation team is always in a good mood and the kids love them 😄 There is a lot on offer, every day pool animation, shows several times a week and the children also get away very well with animation. Monday is there "rest day", means no leisure activities or animation. You can use the aqua park every day and it's super nice for big and small (it's best to be there just before 10 a.m., otherwise the queue will be too long, but that's also very quick). It's always very busy, but it's always worth it. The beach can be reached quickly with the shuttle bus, but only runs twice an hour and the last bus back from the beach leaves at 5 p.m., which I think is a shame, but you can also walk there in 15 minutes. A very nice beach, where there are also offers. The loungers are quickly gone, especially the front ones and they are also very full (but hey, it's summer and high season, if you want peace and quiet, you have to go somewhere else). We also thought the food was good, the same dishes are served every day, but also a lot of variety and everyone will find something. In the end, the people there really annoyed me while eating, egotistically, ruthlessly and impudently (especially the Romanians and locals) throw up mountains of food and throw away half, I get so angry, how bold you can be can. We had a super nice holiday, my daughter didn't want to leave and that's saying something. If you don't have high demands, you will spend a very nice holiday here with many offers and beautiful memories. Do not always let yourself be influenced by reviews and form your own opinion.
