With the exception of an excellent breakfast, the Grand Hotel Tonnara disappointed in every aspect. Reception staff appeared disinterested and the rooms were very tired. The balcony was so small it was impossible for one small person to actually stand on the balcony, let alone open up the drying rack. Not good value for money.

At check-in we asked about the beach and pool. They said since we booked through ********** (*******), both had daily surcharges. I showed them the listing on **********, which had no surcharges listed, except for dinner. They insisted that beach and pool cost extra. I contacted ********** customer service who inspected the policy they have on file for this hotel. Nowhere in the policy does it say that the beach and pool are a surcharge cost! They tried calling the hotel twice to correct the situation, but no one picked up. We ended up paying an extra 32 euros for 2 days at the beach, and never used the pool.
The second issue was the air conditioning. Our first room was sea view and 27C (81F) degrees inside. We turned on the AC, but after 30 minutes, the temperature didn't change. Apparently the windows had to be fully closed and the metal blind fully down, or the AC didn't work. We did that, but it still didn't work. They admitted the AC was malfunctioning in that room, so they moved us to a pool-view room that was 25C (77F). The AC didn't work there either! They said they had no other rooms available, so we spent 3 days in a 25C (77F) room. No refund was ever offered for the non-functioning AC.
Nice beach, big rooms, good breakfast. The staff tried to be helpful, but every issue ended with "I have to ask my boss" and the boss only knew one word, "No." The boss needs to adhere to the policy she agreed to with ********** and relearn the meaning of the word "hospitality".

Beautiful hotel, great location, lovely breakfast. All staff (Reception, Cleaners, Breakfast and Dinning Room Staff) were particularly attentive to my wife's needs (wheelchair bound) which made our stay all the more enjoyable. We will return to the Grand Hotel La Tonnara.

Consigliato a tutti. Ritorniamo dopo un po' di tempo a pranzare in questo ottimo ristorante. Come sempre servizio cortesia ed accoglienza rimangono un loro punto forte. Grazie a Girolamo che ci ha accompagnato in maniera cordiale e professionale durante il nostro pranzo. Grandi piatti, alta qualità e prezzi ottimi.

Insieme a mio marito e a mia figlia di due anni abbiamo trascorso le nostre vacanze al grand hotel la Tonnara...un esperienza indimenticabile. Camera nuova,ampia e arredata con gusto, bagno grande e finestrato con vasca e doccia, pulizia impeccabile. Il lido difronte all'hotel stupendo...gestito in maniera eccellente da Girolamo e Marianna, che sono di una gentilezza unica, sempre attenti e professionali , molto premurosi e simpatici ma mai invadenti e soprattutto instancabili. Lettini ed ombrelloni ben distanziati, sempre tutto in ordine e pulito. Abbiamo spesso pranzato al ristorante del Lido e ci siamo trovati benissimo. Per la nostra bambina hanno avuto sempre molta accortezza accontentando ogni nostra richiesta. Di sera cenavamo in hotel, piatti buoni, abbondanti e sempre vari, serviti da Ivan e Giovanni, gentili ,professionali e simpatici anche loro. Ottima la colazione e bravissime le signore in sala. Alla reception personale sempre presente attento e disponibile. Tutto perfetto. Mancava solo, dopo cena, qualche ora d'intrattenimento per i bambini, anche a sere alterne sfruttando uno dei tanti spazi esterni. Anche solo un po' di musica, che tra l'altro piace anche agli adulti e aiuta a trascorrere in armonia le serate d'estate. Non sempre dopo una giornata al mare si ha voglia prendere la macchina per uscire, anzi spesso è davvero pesante. Grazie di cuore a tutti. Ritorneremo sicuramente. Ci siamo trovati benissimo in tutto ,camera colazione reception pulizia mangiare lido …. Grazieeeeee soprattutto a Marianna e Girolamo sempre presenti e gentilissimi al lido Donnikoo’, a Giovanni e Ivan gentilissimi e sempre disponibili sia al ristorante che in spiaggia, alle ragazze della colazione di cui purtroppo non so i nomi … e infine ma non per ultimi alla signora Maria Luigia e al signor Pino che hanno creato tutto questo …. Abbiamo soggiornato presso questo hotel con altre 2 coppie. Posto incantevole fronte mare davvero comodo accesso alla spiaggia con ombrelloni e lettini comodi e ben distanziati. Lido molto bello e reso ancora più accogliente dalla presenza di Marianna e Girolamo che con la loro gentilezza e simpatia hanno reso davvero bello il nostro soggiorno. La struttura e le camere nella parte nuova sono davvero belle grandi e pulitissime. Il servizio cucina molto interessante,curato e sempre vario. Bravissimi Ivan e Giovanni che con professionalità hanno servito alla sala ristorante alla sera e brave e professionali le ragazze del servizio colazione ( colazione davvero ottima per varietà e qualità). Gentili e preparate anche alla reception sempre pronte ad offrire assistenza ad ogni ora. Insomma complimenti a tutti e grazie per la bella esperienza

Abbiamo trascorsi dei bellissimi giorni ad Amantea. Camera molto ampia, bagno finestrato altrettanto ampio. Mare letteralmente a 2 passi, di fronte alla struttura raggiungibile tramite un sottopassaggio o attraversando la strada. Mare stupendo ed acqua cristallina. Il lido è gestito benissimo, molto pulito e ben organizzato. Abbiamo usufruito della modalità pensione completa quindi abbiamo assaggiato diverse pietanze nei vari pasti. Piatti molto abbondanti e saporiti, servizio dei camerieri attento. Sala del ristorante molto ampia e tavoli ben distanziati. Dal balcone della camera era possibile ammirare il tramonto sul mare. Nelle vicinanze non c'è praticamente nulla ma il centro di Amantea è raggiungibile in pochi minuti in auto. Per una vacanza di totale relax questo è il posto giusto.
