Hampton Inn Amarillo

This is a 3rd Rate Hotel that is in great need of renovation. It was in need of deep cleaning, paint, and serious maintenance. Meanwhile, the management is in complete denial.

Pros: close to highway and many food places, delightful desk person, full sized pillows, lots of hot water and parking, low cost, clean room Cons: no elevator, zero sound insulation, very loud and rattling heating unit, handle latch on doorway leading to stairs clicked extremely loudly, as my room was directly across from it. Not a good night’s sleep at all. Didn’t stay to find out about the breakfast. Those who recommended it must not have had to use the heat or air. In my room it was outrageously loud.

Surprise, we have stayed here two other times, so I keep selecting it because of the good location to get back on the road the next morning. Plus, you can walk to Denny's, Taco Bell or Wendy's after a long drive. The motel was clean, smelled good, the beds were comfy and the front desk staff friendly. I'm concerned that next door is a derelict fenced off motel, but no worries. The establishment filled up by evenings end. Yes, stay again.

Excellent mattress slept great! Minor issues hinges on cabinet were torn out of case. Toilet rocked around as there were only wing nuts and no washers holding it down. Very clean and really enjoyed the shower head! Convenient location and we will be back this summer! Would like to see more than cereal and bagels for breakfast.

I travel to Murfreesboro for work once a week and only stay at Baymont .The staff is absolutely amazing. The rooms are great, beds are comfortable, fluffy pillows, rooms are huge , property is clean, very well lit up , very convenient to everything. Front desk day clerk “Jenny” is absolutely the best not to mention very respectful. The guy “Can’t think of his name “ he works afternoons” and is great, very respectful, does property checks around property at dark, doesn’t hesitate to answer any questions and definitely doesn’t care to help with luggage or whatever.
