Amsterdam Hostel Orfeo

This hostel offers an attractive price and a great location: close to the Rijksmuseum and Prinsengracht. However, there is no such thing as a free lunch. The flip side of the coin is a very tight location. There are three-tier beds, like on Indian trains...The highest of which is very uncomfortable to climb. And climb down too. Especially at night. Another unpleasant moment is the noise from the street from the bars working until the morning. I do not know how the locals live here. I sympathize with them, it's not easy to live in the tourist center of the world. They probably have windows with 100% insulation. So you won't be able to sleep well here.. Otherwise, it's fine. The staff is friendly. Clear.

I couldn't be more pleased with this hostel! I highly recommend it. The hostel, including bathrooms and showers, was very clean. The beds were super cozy and comfortable and offered some privacy. Staff was super sweet and helpful. Bonus points that the lobby always smelled like toast or freshly baked cookies! Also, the bike rental service was fantastic. One suggestion for improvement is that it would have been nice to have some wall hangers in the room. Since there were none, people resorted to hanging stuff from the bed ladders or just putting it on the floor.

We were guests at the Ho(s)tel during our recent stay and we couldn't be satisfied with our experience. We booked a room for 8 in which we stayed for three nights in 7 and the space was more than enough for us and we could enjoy a light and comfortable room. The cleaning was unpassable, with clean bedrooms, towels and a clean and clean general environment. In addition to the room, we appreciated the services offered by the hotel, including the friendly and available staff that helped us during our stay. The central location has allowed us to explore the city comfortable, with all the main attractions and short-distance restaurants walking. All perfect! Maximum rating more than deserved!

Oude Centrum
It was almost in the central of Amsterdam som it was close to almost all the things a tourist would want to be close to. The cleaning there was half and half I would say. I was there during one cleaning and they gave me a new towel even though I hadn’t used the first one I got (positive) but the drawer under your bed to keep your things in were dirty and probably not cleaned in a long time if ever. When I first arrived I was doubtful about the place but it kind of grew a bit on me. Though I must say that there were some flaws: the ventilation went through my room the it was constantly noisy - not a good room for someone who needs quiet. There were no chance for privacy for there were no drapes or anything to close your bed of and the room (a shared bedroom with 8 beds) were almost too small to fit everything in there.

The kitchen was large and well equipped. Showers were very good, some of the most convenient (and warm!) we have found in a hostel so far. The beds were fine, we booked a double bed in a 32 room dorm and while there were people in and out (and some people will just talk at normal volume in the middle of the night) we still got a decent night's sleep. We couldn't hear noise from the bar even though our room was really close by, and in general people were quiet and respectful. Location is excellent if you want to be close to the station, it's a five minute walk away. We couldn't ask for more for the price. You had to scan your key card to get into the building and staff monitored this to make sure only guests were coming in so the hostel felt safe. Free coffee in the mornings. They had breakfast on offer for 5 euros.
