Stayed at Hylatio from May the 19th to the 26th 2024 on a bed and breakfast basis My wife and I are well seasoned travellers and chose this Hotel for a quiet week away in the sun. Overall the hotel was good and the staff very friendly and for the majority of the time we had a nice relaxing holiday, that is until the last day !! We had been notified that a local Christening had been booked for around 120 people. This was to take place in the external dining area and guests on an all inclusive package, nor other guests, would NOT be able to use the external dinning area between the hours of .3.0pm and 6.30pm. There is also a small grassed area just off the external dining area that had tables on it and half that was also booked for the Christening. So your options for dinning were limited There was a buffet laid on for the Christening guests and this was situated in the main internal dining area. Then the music started, a band had been booked for the Christening and off they went !! Very loud and far in excess a volume needed for the distance the guests were away from the band. This went on from approx 3pm to 7.45pm. We were originally at the pool but found the music too loud, we then moved back to our room, shut the doors and tried to drown the volume out, no luck there. In the end I decided we would walk into Pissouri bay, get away from the noise and have a drink. The music was that loud, and I am being truthful, I could still just about hear it 3km away The 120 strong queue for the buffet extended in a line way past the bar and access through the crowd to the bar was limited/awkward. The external dining area was off limits and paying hotel guests were denied it usage The pool area was far from the quiet peaceful place I had paid for and previously enjoyed There were children at the hotel, some toddlers some older. Some went for a nap mid afternoon, I presume they didn't get it ?? We stayed in room 10-5 directly opposite the pool area and within around 30 metres of the main internal dining hall, external dining area and bar, so overall a great room location. I did have a word with the manageress about this and pointed out that they need to decide if they are a function venue or hotel. If the hotel continues this activity they will need to build a separate function room as most hotels have The hotel is generally in need of a face lift and or lick of paint, although the pool area is good with a nicely sized well kept pool and good spacing between the sunbeds. The gardens are well kept and are well laid out Strange issue with the wardrobes in our room, the hanger rails and space between the shelves did not allow for my wife's dress hanging, they were too close together?. In short, ,my advice would be to check if there are any functions booked at this hotel prior to travelling, that is if you want a peaceful relaxing holiday
