This is my second stay at a Selina Brand. Everything was on point. I gave 4 stars because of Two drawbacks - one the building works in the opposite building. They start at 8am and they woke me up, I know this is out of the control of Selina. And the second was the breakfast that I prepaid for each day. The scrambled egg looked like porridge oats but yellow. It wasn't appealing and not nice to eat. The staff on reception were very helpful. I stayed in a private room and my room was cleaned regularly and they gave clean towels. What I did like there was a mixture of both young and more mature travellers from different cultures. There is an awesome family run Mezze restaurant opposite which only during the day. Highly recommend to try. And there is another good restaurant also family run on the next street. There is a lot of Graffiti and Street Art in the area. Don't be put off as the area is very safe. In fact there is a lot of Graffiti across Athens. Go on a Street Art Tour and you will be educated on the history of street art and why it is done.

Didn't get off to a good start as my wallet was stolen getting off the metro, so wasn't in the best of moods, but the people on reception gave me some advice and the morning after we missed breakfast as we wanted to go and report the theft, the person on reception pointed us in the right direction for the police station. The rooms are pretty much as you find in Greece, everything you needed, bath was far to small for me but shower did its job, free safe in room as well. So on the second morning we went for breakfast, this is the highlight of this hotel, as you walk into the breakfast area you are greeted by a really friendly lady who cannot do enough for you and she comes across as a very happy person, typical Greek fare and enough to set you up for the day, bonus number two the view is amazing and as you walk further round the Acropolis appears, it was a great way to start the day. There is also a roof top area where you can sit and drink and at night the Acropolis is lit up and looks magical. The first impression of the area isn't that good, but once you get used to it, its fine, it did seem very safe and literally round the corner there are little streets full of nice bars and shops, it was also very quiet at night which made for a good nights sleep, I would stay here again if I am ever in Athens.

recommend! The location is great! For backpackers, it is a comfortable six-person room. The room is very clean and the wooden bed is good for sleeping. The shared kitchen is also very clean and well equipped. Overall it is a great value hotel! It is a hotel that people will choose to stay in again. 😊

The hotel is on a small street where parking is limited and looks a bit ragged. Looks like an old apartment building outside, but looks completely modern inside. There is a lounge area in front of the reception desk. The feel of the hotel reminds me of the Aloft chain, but it isn’t. There is an elevator which was nice. The twin room was bigger than many city economy hotels. We were able to fit both suitcases on one side of the room and still be able to walk around. The bathroom was also a good size and had a tub/shower combination. The breakfast buffet was large and had a great variety to pick from. We were only there one night, so not sure of any other amenities. There is a terrace on the roof with a lovey view of the Acropolis. We came in very late so didn’t see the night view. Down the block from the hotel are several eating places and one of the large shopping areas is a 10 minute walk away. The block the hotel is on looks rather ragged, but that seemed a bit common in Athens. We walked all around and always felt safe.
Athens Center Square Hotel

This was my second stay at Athens Center Square Hotel and it was as good as the first. Location is fantastic in the old marketplace with a great restaurant at the corner and easy walk to Monesteri and metro. It is a budget hotel - so don't expect luxury and can be a little rough around the edges, but the price is good and the staff is fantastic. From the roof-top bar you get as good a view of the Acropolis as you have from any luxury hotel with friendly service and good prices at the bar. Breakfast included in the rate and was excellent with a large variety of fresh local items plus standard international options. Highly recommended if you want great value, comfortable rooms and fantastic staff. Not luxury, but my choice in Athens every time!
