We choose this hotel because of the pictures, the description, the views and privacy.
Pros:
1. The staff is just amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and to assist us with anything that was needed when we asked.
2. The hotel offered someone to drive us in a golf cart any time we needed to be dropped off or picked up. This was included in the rate but we tipped every time.
3. The breakfast was included. Minimal but delicious.
4. Our room (King Suite) had an amazing view and was spacious.
5. The hotel was not in the center of the city which means it was quiet and private.
Cons:
1. Bedding had hair from previous guests and little bugs. Unclear if the bedding was replaced before we arrived.
2. Bathrobes had holes (but they charge $200 if you want to take it home).
3. Toilet paper was 1 ply...
4. Kuerig needed to be descaled and smelled like mold. Don't use it.
5. Our room is not reached by an elevator. It requires an elevator and then walking up 3 flights of stairs. It should be required to have staff available to take guests luggage up to the suites.
6. The historic Catalina Island Chimes Tower is right next to the hotel. Like ten steps away. It starts chiming at 8am, for every 15 minutes, and does not stop until 8-9pm.
7. The road behind the hotel has stairs leading up to the hotel that anyone walking by can access, gain entry to the hotel, and walk about the hotel.
8. Pool is not heated.
9. Over $2k for 3 nights and pool was not even heated.
