This holiday was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and it fulfilled everything we wanted - fresh air, remote location, great food, good rest. From the very beginning (before we arrived) Insaf, the hotel manager, has kindly replied to all our questions and arranged for taxi from the airport to the hotel. It was perfect, no issues on the way. All taxi drivers (we used three during the stay) were perfect. The journey took 3.5h from Marrakech airport to the hotel, the wait was worth the while. I was wondering how much enhancement the main photos on the website went though, just to find out that no pictures did justice to the true beauty of that place - both, the hotel and the lake. Once we start descending from top of the mountain to the hotel, we were speechless. The lake is (according to our mobile App) just over 800m above sea level and the surrounding mountains are reaching 3000 - 4000m. On arrival, all reception staff were vey friendly ( I hope I have the spelling right here - thank you Neuna, Zineb and Salim). The accommodation was surprisingly spacious, hotel is clean and well managed. Food is very, very good - from morning to evening. Breakfast had plenty of choices, until late hours of the morning. Prices were more on expensive side for Marocco ( same as average restaurant prices in the UK), however taking into account quality of food, hours away from main city - we believe it is justified. You will understand more once you see the rocky soil local people have to deal with (if there is any soil at all). Service was flawless. We have seen Yousuf (main manager) through our holiday. He was always present, always making sure we were happy. He has reserved our favourite table through the holiday (thank you Yousuf). It was apparent, he is the right guy at the right place. The spa is great, I believe it is a recent addition to the hotel - very modern and restful place. The ladies are wonderful (than you Rabita for my massage). Most employees seem to be local people, all proud of the beautiful hotel and the surrounding nature and they want you to have a good experience. All of the locals are very helpful (even if you don't speak French!). One thing to mention - some of the hills are practically 45 degrees steep, something to consider. The hotel has buggies (which we used frequently). Please keep in mind the location, which is very challenging. It must take a lot of effort to have all the amenities. All things considered - fantastic hotel !
