Great hotel, great value for money. It is a relatively small five-star hotel. Every room has a bottomless sea view and a beautiful swimming pool, which children like very much. It is very convenient to go out to the beach.

Has a lovely few nights here at the end of our tour around the Island. Beach beautiful. Hotel was lovely, no information in room, so we were not aware of spa facilities until the last day. No information on room service either. Hotel do not arrange tuk tuks, friends had to go out onto the roadside to do this. Which wasn't a problem. It would have been nice if the hotel had someone they could recommend . Food was OK for two or three nights. Highlights view,staff were amazing. Lifeguard super nice. Our cocktails were delish and made by the lovely Nalaka and Kavinda. The waiting staff in the dining room were lovely too including Shehan. Didn't get all the staffs names . They were really helpful and polite and just lovely. A few tweaks Shinagawa and it would be a super lovely hotel. Including a happy hour, where you get cocktails for half price. The hotel never feels busy, even though fully booked. If you could just pop information folders in the rooms with room service and spa details and cheaper cocktails and a wider variety of food in buffet it would be perfect. Thanks for having us

Disappointing end of a great tour of a beautiful country The hotel was the worst one we had stayed in out of the eight. This was a shame as some of the other hotels were stunning. The room was nice and had everything that we needed. AC worked well and the views of the beach and sea were very relaxing. The downside was that if you stepped out of the hotel grounds you were pounced on by tuk tuk drivers and tour guides. There were women trying to sell clothes hanging over the fence and calling to all of the guests. One was shouting at me as I was standing in the room balcony trying to sell a sarong. The food was adequate for breakfast but dinner was poor. There were very few choices and even less for vegetarians. Most of the food was either lukewarm or cold. Many items ran out and weren’t replenished.

Nice place to stay after the trip through the country. All the staff is very friedly and courteous, especially Mr. Sithara. Dinner is really delicious. Rooms and the whole hotel is neat! Walking on the beach is a nice erperience. Andrea & Christoph

Stayed for 2 nights during our tour of Sri Lanka, welcome and check-in was superb, room was wonderful with lovely view over the beach. Dinner on the first night was little more then adequate, had something off the BBQ which was pre cooked and then reheated, they only reheated it for a few minutes so was barely warmed through, the buffet food was also only lukewarm, location for getting to the local area was great, breakfast was an improvement on the dinner, staff at breakfast were not the fastest at serving, had to ask for tea and coffee, seemed they were waiting for a tip before serving. Second night dinner was much better, food was a lot warmer, second day breakfast was much better and staff seemed friendlier.

Great hotel! Employees are super helpful and friendly and the cocktails are to die for! Nalaka makes the best Caipirinha and Pinacolada from Sri-Lanka 😀 the caipirinha is definitely brazilian approve 😀🇧🇷 just like I have them at my homecountry 🤩

Lovely trip exploring Sri Lanka spoilt by the 5 night stay at Shinagawa Beach. Rooms dirty, mold on bathroom blinds and ceiling, and parasols. Food not very good. Especially evening dinner. Its buffet style with options that don't really go together. Buffet is not replenished often either, there is often a wait for crockery, cutlery etc.

Visited this hotel for 5 nights at the end of a 16 night tour via Secret Escapes As with all my reviews, I will state the things I would have liked to know before travelling, together with an general overview. Generally a great hotel, in a fantastic position, adjoining a simply stunning beach. All the staff and especially the Manager, were so helpful and caring and could not do enough for you. It is worth mentioning, that they were a little short staffed, meaning that you could go to the bar, for example and there could be no one there, this happened on several occasions. The food was excellent, with a good mix of European and Sri Lankan food and the chief was happy to accommodate most dietary requirements. Good to Know:- Bathrobes in rooms More towels than you will ever need. No real hassle from hawkers on beach Plenty of sunbeds, but back row doesn't get the sun until after midday Towels provided on sunbeds at 7am Sea is safe to swim in and 28 degrees! (Life Guarded) Very uncrowded beach (see photos) Great Air con in rooms (you will need it) Overall no anxiety, peaceful & enjoyable

This hotel is very poorly managed. Positives for it are the fabulous quiet beach location, nice pool, large rooms with amazing views. Most of the staff are very nice. Negatives - Staff are untrained Buffet food is just awful mostly it’s cold and unappealing and not one chef can cook eggs! We were a party of 4 3 of us got sick I was up all night vomiting and several other guests said they too had been sick. After complaining they allowed us to order Al a carte which was far better. One bar man serving day and night so expect a long wait to be served as he also has to do the drinks for the restaurant there are numerous waiters who could be helping but they are too busy messing on their phones. The aircon in our room was ancient and extremely loud they were unable to sort this out . The hallway outside the rooms was littered with glasses and bottles for the whole of our five day stay. There is no entertainment at all and consequently most people go to bed at 21:30 the hotel has no atmosphere. It was supposed to be a luxury hotel to relax in after a fantastic tour of Sri Lanka it was a massive disappointment. There were so many random office people walking around it was bizarre that they could not see or manage the massive problems in this hotel.
