Delta Hotels Baltimore North

Baltimore|2.99km from Millbrook Antiques & Prints
I spent one weekend night here. My GPS took me to the stores in front of the hotel. I was in a Williams and Sonoma parking lot so if that happens to you, just know you need to follow the road next to the parking garage to behind the Williams and Sonoma and you'll find the hotel. Not the hotel's fault, I'm just mentioning it in case it happens to you too. The two gentlemen at the front desk for check in were both very nice. I went to my room and found it to be clean and very spacious. It was very dark though and the whole inside of the room and hotel just seems old. The room was pretty hot when I got in there but it was the hottest weekend of the year and I figured had just been hotter because housekeeping turned the temperature up like a lot do after somebody checks out. At check in, I had asked about a restaurant but they said that theirs closed during Covid and never reopened. They did give me a sheet with a bunch of local recommendations for other restaurants. I picked one of those and when I went back to the lobby to go eat, I overheard workers talking about the broken AC. So the reason my room was hot is because the whole hotel's AC had gone out. This just happens, I get it. I'll say that the hotel had somebody out there in just a couple hours to have it fixed and my room was getting cool by the time I was ready to go to bed which was good. Unfortunately, I had to leave at 0745 on Saturday morning and their breakfast doesn't start until 0800 on the weekends. It's earlier on a weekday. I wish this policy would be changed. The price was reasonable and the location was pretty convenient for what I was in town for. I'm not sure I would stay here again though if I ever end up staying in Baltimore again.

Midtown Inn
2/543 Reviews
My flight was canceled and I needed somewhere to stay so I booked at Midtown Inn on Priceline. Big mistake! After paying the $50 cash deposit (why not a credit card hold?), I asked for a receipt. The front desk staff (owner?) insisted it was unnecessary and that it was impossible to give me a receipt (”it will just need to be crossed out in the morning”). As I tried to understand what he meant by that, he became agitated and after a few more minutes told me I had to leave. I was stunned and said, ”It's 11 pm and I don't have anywhere else to stay...” and he replied, ”That's your problem, that's not my problem. You need to leave or I'm calling the police.” This was entirely uncalled for. I was calm and polite, even as he came around the desk toward me and started gesturing at me. It was pointless to continue talking so I returned the key, he refunded my money, and I left. I don't know Baltimore well but I do know downtown isn't an area to hang around alone late at night with a big travel bag. I don't understand how they can stay in business if this is how they treat their customers.
SpringHill Suites Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor

This is my second time staying at the Springhill Suites in the last 4 months. It has quickly become my go-to hotel when I am in time visiting family. The rooms are clean, fresh, and the entire staff is courteous, friendly, and attentive. Kudos to Alison the GM for running such a smooth operation !
Candlewood Suites Baltimore - Inner Harbor

Candlewood Suites is everything! The appearance of the hotel's exterior and interior was exceptional along with the amenities. The lobby area has incorporated modern furniture and decor, including a nice size, mounted LCD TV.  Near the entrance/lobby area, is 4 washer/4 dryer laundry units. All washer and dryer units appeared to be up to date and fully functional. Candlewood Suites laundry amenity is provided completely free to all current guests at this hotel. The laundry 4 washers and 4 dryer units are freely accessible 24hrs (must use hotel key to access)  however, you must provide your own detergent. It is also adjacent to the gym fitness center.   The guestroom suites are exactly as advertised. The kitchenette and bathroom appliances are up to date and fully functional. The shower and bathroom (adjacent) sink water pressure and the temperature gauge are somewhat temperamental.  The guestroom suites are also roomy and cozy. The kingsize bed along with large textured soft and firm pillows were incredibly comfortable. A nice Samsung model 40inch + TV installed on the bureau for enjoyable pleasure and entertainment.   The hotel staff is professional and they provided every day housekeeping services.  I really enjoyed my stay in the king premium studio suite! It was really cozy.  All appliances and utilities were completely functional. All hotel common areas are immaculately clean. I especially took notice of the maintenance personnel cleaning the entrance, lobby, and elevator floors every day.  All hotel staff was polite, professional, and accomodating.  If you can bypass the moderately sketchy neighborhood and vagabonds, Candlewood Suites is exceptional and conveniently located to many eateries and convenience stores! Highly recommended.

It is especially convenient in the hospital area. One room has a double bed and a double sofa bed. It can be opened for four people. It is also convenient to have a kitchen. The hotel's infrastructure is complete. There are ice machines and water dispensers. There is a free coffee bar.
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore

I had read previous reviews about the hotel needing to be updated but thought it would be okay for a quick overnight stay since I was in town for a wedding. But after my experience I wouldn’t come back—not even for another quick stay. I want to say the staff was helpful and friendly, but the hotel itself leaves less to be desired. I discovered after leaving out the room for my event that my door did not immediately lock, which as a solo traveler is a major concern. The staff that came to help showed me that I had to maneuver the handle a certain way to get the door to fully shut. From what I gathered many other guest call and have to be shown the same technique. For a hotel at this level, guests shouldn’t need to do a special door handling technique to get their doors to properly close and lock. My room was clean but did have chipped furniture, a crack in the hall closet door, the chair in the room was stained, and stains were all over the walls but it may have been bad touch up paint jobs—I’m not sure. My last issue was with the valet service. I came back from the wedding festivities quite late and planned to use the service so that I didn’t have to self park and walk back to the hotel alone but no one was there. I asked the front desk staff if the service was available and she confirmed it was but no one knew where he went and he had been missing for quite some time. Luckily there was street parking available right across from the entrance and I parked there instead. Even though the staff I encountered were great, I wouldn’t visit again since I had so many solo safety concerns and the room wasn’t nice enough to help make up for it either. Please update the rooms to match the lovely architecture!
