Shangri-La Hotel Baotou

The best hotel in Baotou. The location is excellent, right next to Wanda Plaza, City Park, and a food street. The food at Xiang Palace is good and reasonably priced. The above-ground and underground parking lots are large enough and convenient for self-driving. The only drawback is that the path from the above-ground parking lot to the lobby is gravel, which is not luggage-friendly.

The view is great, with a park downstairs and a beautiful night view. Wanda Plaza is right next door, so dining is very convenient! The hotel didn't provide children's toiletries. I called the front desk to arrange delivery, but the first time they didn't send everything. I didn't quite catch what they missed, so they had to send it again. The attitude wasn't great!

The Shangri-La Baotou is indeed a bit old-fashioned, and the Shang Palace restaurant wasn't up to par, the food wasn't great. Breakfast was decent though. Facilities: The facilities are definitely quite dated. The rooms have a strong 'old-school official' vibe. Hygiene: It was quite clean, and the bathrobes were even placed in dust covers. Environment: The common areas are very good, the lobby is spacious in the usual Shangri-La style. Service: The service was excellent. Happy Hour light meal: This dinner was good, much better than the afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was very perfunctory. Because of this, it was clear that there was no need for executive privileges in Baotou, so I canceled the executive suite at another five-star hotel and booked a newly opened budget hotel instead.

The hotel service is excellent, and the room is cleaned thoroughly every day. It's my go-to hotel whenever I visit Baotou. The location is also superb, making it very convenient to get around.

My stay at Shangri-La Baotou far exceeded my expectations! Even before checking in, I received a call from the hotel arranging the room according to my preferences. Upon arrival, the concierge proactively helped with luggage, and the front desk staff were warm and meticulous, introducing the hotel's restaurants and fitness center. The room was clean and hygienic! I've had their shaomai before and it was good, but this time I was particularly impressed by the new mutton buns at breakfast – absolutely amazing! My family really enjoyed the freshly fried dough sticks. Overall, the entire check-in process was excellent, and the hotel's location is superb! It's only about a 15-minute drive from the highway exit! Finally, a special shout-out to Avila Wang.

It was good...

This is an older hotel, and the facilities are a bit dated (for example, the toilets aren't smart toilets). However, the service here is excellent. Whether it's the front desk staff, the floor attendants, the restaurant staff, or any other service personnel you encounter, they are all incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. Thumbs up to them! 👍 The hotel's swimming pool is also quite good, and the jacuzzi is very relaxing. The location of this hotel is also fantastic. The surrounding commercial streets and Wanda Plaza are great for browsing, and there are many delicious food options nearby. Right downstairs is the Bank Plaza, perfect for a stroll in the morning or evening. If I come to Baotou again next time, I'll probably stay here again! 😊
