The location is really a bit biased, but there is also a commercial package next to it that is OK. The quality of the hotel's service, breakfast, and the internal environment are very good. There is a subway within a 15-minute walk, and it’s fast to the center of Bilbao. Next time I go on a business trip, I’ll change to a closer location, but it’s good for a vacation. You can stay in the hotel for a whole day, hahahahaha

The hotel is unique in design, novel, and the front desk service is good. The reception processing speed is relatively slow, the elevator is less inconvenient, sometimes it needs to wait, and the overall stay is quite satisfactory.

Having stayed here on a couple of occasions over the last twenty years, the hotel has possibly lost a bit of its appeal. It’s still good value depending on the season and the surrounding scenery is lovely but there’s not much to do if you leave the hotel grounds. We had a room in the main building which was very large but very basic. Whether you eat either in the main restaurant or the bistro, the menus and prices are pretty similar. The choice is a tad limited and the costs are rather puzzling. Some dishes are good value and quite filling whereas others are very small and expensive. Furthermore a bread roll costs €1.50 whereas a very nice glass of wine starts at just €2.40! The buffet breakfast however is a disappointment. Barely anything hot and a very limited selection of cold meats, cheeses, croissants etc.

Close to the airport. The hotel has a free shuttle to the airport, which is very convenient. The rooms are relatively new, the decoration is simple and the configuration is relatively simple. The whole is still relatively clean. Breakfast is simple and there are not many choices.

I needed my boyfriend to stay over while I was traveling and this was the perfect place. This isn't a 5-star hotel, but it did the trick and we were very comfortable - here is why. PROS - Coming from Bilbao Airplane or taking Bus?...: It is close to 2 blocks from Bilbao Intermodal and if you are coming from the airport, this hotel is an easy walk from where the bus drops you off in San Mamés. The location is also SUPER safe. - Transportation: If you look down the street and cross it, you will also see the tram station along with the metro station. - Food?: There is food everywhere. This is Bilbao. Spend 2 euros (or really please buy a Barik card) and go into the city, you won't be disappointed. The best part about the tram is that it goes theoretically left or right. I live close to NYC so I understand it can be complicated, but the system in Bilbao, chef's kiss. - Bed/Room: Pro? The bed/room you get in sleek, modern, and for a REALLY CHEAP PRICE! Please don't hassle your way into spending a lot of money on a hotel in Spain. It is not truly worth it. Just get this place, feel comfortable, and safe. - Staff? There are not many, but the ones that are there will help and accommodate you. You just need to be nice. I say this because I went in to check in and someone was being helped. They weren't that nice to staff, so please remember, we are all human. CONS - Cleaning: I will say, the bathrooms were clean, but the headboard for me was dusty. It might have been that the room wasn't used a lot. But please don't worry, it did not effect my stay considering the price was reasonably cheap. - THE ENTRANCE!: You need to understand, their rating is a 2/5 stars but it is NOT because they are bad, in Spain it is based on what the hotel/hostels have and DON'T have. So what they don't have is a front reception. Listen closely if you are going to go here. Once you get on the street, you will need to buzz into the door as if you are requesting to go to someone's apartment. OR they will give you a code before hand. We had a lovely 4 night stay at the at Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia - Great welcome, Our ‘Privilege’ Room on the 7th floor was lovely very spacious with a very comfortable King size bed, large closet with hanging and shelf space and a large safe. There was a minibar with complimentary water 2 still and 1 sparkling, 2 beers and 2 Coca Cola which was replenished every day. There is a coffee machine. Good controllable air conditioning. The Bathroom had a large walk-in shower. There is a nightclub nearby so there is some noise at night so if you are a light sleeper you should ask for a quiet room. Perfect location - The hotel is 15 min stroll to the Guggenheim museum and its about 10 minute walk from the centres of both the old and new towns, there is a Corte Ingles about 10 mins walk away on the main street and the hotel is just a couple of minutes from the river. The Lobby bar is great and the staff are pleasant and helpful and prices are very reasonable – it was lovely sitting outside having a glass of wine. It is very easy to get to from the airport A3247 bus stop, Journey from the airport is about 20 minutes. Great staff All the staff we met were helpful. Reception is on the 3rd Floor. Breakfast is on the 4th floor with good coffee machines and a great fresh orange juice machine. Thank you to all the restaurant and bar staff especially the manager and also Pedro. The housekeeping was efficient, and everything was spotless. There are so many amazing restaurants and bars in Bilbao serving great food – We were lucky enough to be in Bilbao for the start of the festival and we really enjoyed the amazing firework display on Saturday night. We are already looking forward to returning to Bilbao and the Mercure Bilbao Jardines de Albia.

A pleasant apartment in a quiet neighborhood with friendly reception. Nearby is a supermarket, coffee maker and a good bar/restaurant. Also transport to the center is easy with bus 38 (exit 1st stop after t complex) or metro. The complex is also a little noisy (contact sounds and stinging doors), the apartment does not work as a apartment, because there are no kitchen stuff, no cleaning and soaps, etc. The latter need not be insurmountable and then the price-quality ratio is good. Well, I wonder how the noise is when the students are back.
