The Diving: The macro diving was spectacular, with the variety of critters the most we have experienced, including dozens of different nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, pipefish, crabs, shrimp, etc. Larger critters included turtles, moray eels, frogfish, ****y rhinopias, octopus, larger crabs & shrimp, various puffers, butterflyfish, damsels, anthias, barracuda, cowfish, boxfish, anemonefish, cuttlefish, etc. The variety of diving ranged from muck diving on sandy slopes to beautiful healthy coral reefs crammed with marine life, so crammed it was hard to know what to look at! The night diving was not to be missed at the pier & included numerous octopus, bobtail shrimp, stargazers, pipefish, squid, crabs, Melibe nudibranchs, a pipehorse, Bobbit worm, gurnards, burrfish, etc. After a dive I was constantly remarking that it was my favourite dive ever, only to say the same thing after the next dive. We have dived throughout the world & enjoyed this location more than anywhere else! The viz was usually 40 – 60 feet, not the best, but not as important for macro diving, & an indication of the nutrients needed to sustain life. There was current at times, but manageable. The Dive Operation: Up to 4 dives a day were offered & included 2 back-to-back morning dives starting at 9 am, an afternoon dive at 2:30 – 3 pm, & a night dive at 6 pm. The largest group we were included 5 divers. My husband & I each completed 24 dives over 7 days. The dive sites were generally within 20 minutes of the resort by bangka, with roll-off entry, & ladder to exit the sites, with the option of removing your BCD in the water for the staff to lift out for you. The staff carried all gear on & off the boat. Divers rinsed & hung up their own neoprene. A spacious camera room was available & kept locked overnight. The dive masters were eager to please & great at finding those critters we would have easily missed. Before each dive a briefing was given with time given for any questions. Accommodation: The resort included 7 guest rooms & was basic, definitely not luxurious, but most importantly clean, with a good mattress on the bed, & quiet. Our shower took a while to figure out & warm up so we found it easier to use the outdoor showers after our last dive of the day. Restaurant: Breakfast was included each day & was ordered off the menu & included coffee. Because we dived all day we elected to have our lunches & dinners here as well. The food was delicious & reasonably priced. We were frustrated, however, by the lack of availability of fresh fruit (they ran out constantly), & desserts (they ran out of ice cream early in the week & did not replenish it). We don’t usually eat dessert at home so part of enjoying our vacation time is to indulge ourselves; I know, first world problem! Service: The staff provided exemplary service, from the moment of 1st contact by email & throughout our stay. We were always greeted with friendly smiles & asked how we were enjoyi

Another brilliant week spent at Blue Ribbon dive resort completing my Advanced Nitrox and Deco procedures course followed but some great tech and recreational diving. Can't thank instructor Jon enough for getting me ready for Tech diving, Dang, Jeff and the entire blue ribbon staff for making sure the diving and experience was nothing but amazing. Thanks.

Perfect place for me and my friend to stay, we stayed 2 nights and 3 days! We are both Scuba divers and the facilities for diving were spot on, even if you are just staying to get away from things (a non diver) this place is so chilled, I stayed in the upstairs ocean view room and it was perfect for the price, the food is fantastic and very well priced, a big shout out to all the staff and especially Dang and John (the owner) who made us feel like part of the blue ribbon family, we will be back 😊

Found this place through the PADI website & the place did not disappoint. Got my advanced open water diver certification here. Dang, my instructor was very accommodating and really knew his stuff. Equipment is well maintained, they have a nice camera room too. All the staff were helpful, friendly, and hospitable. View is nice. Food is great too. Nice to hang around the dining area during morning and late afternoons to enjoy the sea breeze. Room was clean and spacious even if we got the standard room. Highly recommend this place for divers and I'll definitely be back for fun dives!

We dived with Blue Ribbon in Jan-24, staying at a nearby hotel but often ate at Blue Ribbon’s restaurant. Diving It was my first trip to the Philippines, and Anilao was definitely the right choice for a good combo of macro and coral dive sites. A smallish dive centre, with a good set up and some great dive guides who did their best to find us all the best critters. We got to know the other guests there too (some people stayed just a few days before moving on to other destinations) whereas we stayed in Anilao for 2 weeks, so we got to chat to a fair few people. As well as our day boat dives, we did a couple of night dives at Anilao Pier which I’d highly recommend - everything comes out at night, and we were lucky enough to see hummingbird bobtail squid, hairy frogfish, and various ghost pipefish. Sea temp in Jan was chillier than I’d like (25-26 most days) but with my 3.5mm wetsuit and hood it was just warm enough, next time I’d come later in the year for less exposure gear. They do rent 3mm suits as well as pretty much every other piece of dive kit, which looked in good nick - we just tend to bring all our own. Restaurant We ate breakfast at Blue Ribbon every day pre morning dive, both the American and English breakfasts were very tasty, and good coffee too. Donna the waitress was brilliant and always remembered how we like our food & drinks, in fact she really makes the place. We ate there most evenings too (which involved braving the MANY steps up from BR to the road twice a day - which certainly kept us fit!) which is testament to Blue Ribbon’s food quality. I especially liked the Hawaiian pizza 😃 Vibe Jonathan the owner was very friendly and was really responsive to any issues raised, which was appreciated. We enjoyed seeing the resident dogs everyday, Shadow, Billy and Mushka, as well as next door’s golden retriever puppy who I think was called Bobo - who lolloped about and was quite entertaining. Thanks Jon and team for your hospitality and dive/photography chats!

Ok I'll start with the negative first. No hot water on most days very frustrating after a few dives when you are chilled. Wanted my room cleaned one time and they never came, annoying. 1st night I went down for dinner someone at the table next to me was getting a pedicure in the restaurant with toenail clipping flying around! Gross thankfully none landed in my food. The restaurant is small and they allow smoking it smells and you cannot get away from it, not fare to non smokers. Cats and dogs all over but they are well behaved. Beer can be colder. Place can use some upgrades paint cleaning and fix the crumbling steps. If you like to sunbath not the place for you no chairs by the pool or on the rocky beach. Good stuff Food was good and the portions were very big and a lot of variety on the menu, and Donna the server is so sweet! The dive crew are awesome from the boat captain to his helper. Jeff the divemaster is awesome he watches out for everyone and if you don't have enough weight to get down he is right there with extra weight! They go to a variety of spots for muck and reef dives. Shout out to Jeff nd Dan for being some of the best spotters anywhere!
