Holiday Inn Express Bath

Clean and good service. Breakfast included. Gluten free options present. Can stay here again. Recommended! 10 mins walking distance to the city center. Spooky view Room across the cemetery 😅

I found the hotel very comfortable and friendly. The bedroom was clean, spacious and tidy as was the shower and toilet area. The staff were all smartly dressed and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of cereals plus a cooked breakfast but I was not keen on the sausages. Car parking was easy as a disabled driver I appreciated that. However on arrival all disabled parking taken but only one car had a disabled card in the window, this needs to be monitored. Not keen on having to pay extra for parking on top of accommodation charge, but that's a NCP charge. The location is not very close to Bath city centre but on a good bus route. Bath city does not encourage cars in the city centre but I did find a good disabled free of charge parking space. However the hotel was well worth the accommodation cost, compared with other hotels in Bath. Would I use this hotel again, yes I would but I will look at others, like most people I do need to keep an eye open for value for money.

The staffs are so nice and helpful. If parking can be free will be better.

Easy access to city by bus, just 10 mins travelling time. There are pub and restaurant nearby.

Friendly and helpful staff, and we can use the facilities and eat in the restaurant even we buy take away from outside.

I stayed three nights and then added an additional night. There were some issues that were resolved with a room change after my first night. Some systematic issues seemed to improve with feedback. Cons: The shower floor towel was left rolled up in the shower tray. I failed to notice it before turning on the shower to run the hot water through - soaked floor towel. The shower didn’t get hot because the button on the knob was missing and couldn’t be be turned passed the mud point of like warm. Room change needed. The new room had a towel with lipstick on it in several places. Housekeeping should have noticed this. Reception helped to get me another, but I had to do it all myself. I hinted that they needed to do better as this was already a room change and the towel was another issue. They didn’t/wouldn’t/couldn’t offer any reparations, but I felt that horsing seemed to be doing a better job after that. They were more careful about not leaving the shower floor towel so hidden. Breakfast - I got up to get some more food and my crockery were cleared away along with my half full coffee. A little inconvenient as I had to get another coffee. I sat down again with additional food and I was asked if I’d finished and could my plates be cleared away. This was an unnecessary intrusion. I was not finished. Vegetarians are not catered for for hot food. There are other options from the Continental side. The room was good and I slept well. The breakfast experience was the weakest area.

My friend and I had a fantastic overnight stay. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by reception staff, offered a choice of floors where they had availability, we chose the ground floor. After check in was complete we were given a little ‘winter warmer’ package which contained a lovely little welcome note, candy cane sweets, hot chocolate sachets and packets of tiny marshmallows 😊. We found out the following day that they were the new managers idea and that she had had her children filling the bags for guests, this small personal touch for a chain hotel was so lovely and helped add to our enjoyment. All the staff we met were friendly, professional and a credit to the hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable with a well thought out design, lots of sockets, complimentary toiletries, overlapping curtains that actually blocked out the entire window which meant we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice with a totally separate toasting section with gluten free bread if required. The hotel itself is a 15 minute walk to the city centre/train station but no hills to negotiate so absolutely fine to walk to with wheeled suitcases (car park available too). All in all it was a great place to stay for those want to explore Bath, I’d definitely recommend and would absolutely book again.
