It’s a wonderful hotel, with great staff services and yummy breakfast. It could have been better if they make sure the shampoo and body wash are properly filled before we checked in.

This beautiful hotel did not disappoint. The hotel, the grounds and staff were first class. The breakfast was quality, fresh and delicious. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The attention to detail was refreshing. A real luxury escape , we will be returning

Met up with friends for 3 night break. Building in course of renovation & full kitchen yet to be opened. Whilst some rooms are cosy they are reasonably well equipped. Staff extremely helpful as we decided to stay extra night. The Continental breakfast lacks nothing & sets you up well for the day. Close to numerous places of interest.

Where do I start? You must stay here if you love a hotel with history, that is beautiful and has staff that care about you and your stay ... we are still visiting, but couldn't wait to review until we got home - that is how amazing this hotel is. Originally built in 1895, the current owners purchased it last year and have done a sympathetic restoration to the internal and external building. The first night we stayed we were looking it's history up (we were that in awe of it's beauty) - to truly appreciate what the new owners have done to the hotel and grounds - go to YOUTUBE and watch the Urban Explorers video of the "abandoned" Caer Rhun Hall (we found it our first night) . We were amazed to see on this video the abandoned Teddy and Pig - as we had seen them still in the hotel earlier that first night ...as you watch the video you see how much has been saved and restored. Our first evening was spent in the bar, chatting to the staff (YES ... they are busy, but still make time to chat to you. The staff friendliness, caring nature and attentive service, made the whole weekend SO special. But in the evening they went around and lit candles all over the hotel and dimmed the lights - we just truly relaxed...listening to instrumental music of well known songs and reminiscing to where we heard that tune! The grounds are phenomenal with bluebell meadows, enormous rhododendron bushes and a huge swing seat for big kids (or so we told ourselves) to use hanging from a cone tree that must to 100's old. Our room was a small double with en-suite bathroom with shower over - very small but perfectly appointed. Breakfast was delicious, with a self-making pancake machine, egg boiler and a range of cereals, fruit, juices, pastries, bara brith the list is endless... would we stay here again (well we will be leaving grudgingly and will definitely book again ... when it's not raining and to try the restaurant that is opening by the end of May 2024

OMG such a beautiful hotel I would go further and say interior is one of the best I’ve stayed in worldwide. The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel. The cleaners do an amazing job job The gardens are also kept immaculate. We were told continental breakfast but it was far more than that it had more choice than I have ever seen before. The amenities in the rooms are above and beyond what would be expected for the price. Good luck on your new restaurant and everything that you have planned for the future.

Having just had two nights at the hotel l have to say there are good and not so good things regarding the hotel. The good points are the staff are very obliging and helpful in every way. We had a room overlooking the garden which was adequate in size but the shower was on the small side and for a smaller person the mirror is far to high. The biggest complaint l would have is that there is no warm food available at this hotel . They do not have a restaurant for dinner so you are forced to get in your car and drive to get an evening meal. The fact that everyone has to drive for a meal means there is nobody in the hotel and that means there is nobody in the bar thus no atmosphere whatsoever other than silence. This l would suggest costs the hotel lost revenue in that we would have eaten there had they had a restaurant and probably a drink or two subsequently. The room we had on booking . Com would have been £400 for two nights with no cooked breakfast , l find that not good value for money . I’m afraid l will not be returning.

What a stunning place! From start to finish, my wife and I were made to feel instantly welcome, the staff were fantastic and extremely friendly. We stayed overnight and the bed was the comfiest bed ever, the breakfast was continental and was beautiful, everything imaginable for breakfast was catered for. The hotel itself is just stunning and the grounds and the scenery is breathtaking. Thank you to you all, we had a brilliant time and will be stopping again for sure 👌

Beautiful building and attractive grounds. Location for us was perfect as a base for travelling up and down the whole coast, easy access to the expressway. We knew that breakfast would only be continental and it provided plenty of choice for everyone. Staff were all lovely but did seem stretched at breakfast time leading to certain things being overlooked on a couple of mornings. The downstairs decor is stunning, the bar prices were high and it must have been the smallest glass of Prosecco I’ve had. We booked the cosy double room/ cream tea/ Prosecco deal but as we were mainly out and about the cream tea was something we declined. Never got offered the Prosecco! The room was certainly cosy, it was very warm and we had the fan on all the time. No where to store luggage, or bathroom paraphernalia, the sink was tiny and wouldn’t seal. There was one very small wardrobe situated right up against the bed which made getting in and out a bit of a challenge. No table or reading light or side table on that side which was a miss. Coffee machine and tea facilities in the room. You get what you pay for, so no complaints, just need to be aware by looking at the website or talking to the hotel to make sure you know what you are getting. The staff are lovely and will aim to meet your requirements. Thank you for a lovely break. With regard to eating in the evening there were two lovely local eateries within 1.1- 1.4 miles. Be aware if you take a taxi it will cost you £30 return as taxis come from Conwy. We mostly stayed out all day and ate before we returned to Caer Rhun in the evening. We enjoyed our stay and I’m sure as the hotel develops and achieves the status it is aiming for it will be a great place.

Where do I start? The hotel is amazing and so are the grounds, even in the rain it was beautiful. Once inside, we were welcomed by Aled and Crystell who were very helpful, warm, friendly and had fantastic local knowledge. We had the cream tea and prosecco deal, we were asked what time we wanted it which was great. We unpacked, had a bit of a walk and had it when we came back. We thought that being asked what time we wanted it was brilliant as it was fresh and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. This was served in the Great Hall. This room is beautifully decorated and is both modern and in-keeping with the house. The designers really know what they’re doing! The bar area is also delivhtful as is the mor ing room and the Apothecary. Basically, all the public areas are amazing! Upon our return we wanted to know of any places to eat as Caer Rhun currently doesn’t have a restaurant. We were given a list, and Aled gave some recommendations which we found very useful. On the first evening we went to The Erskine Arms which was great. The second night we went to Johnny Dough’s. Both served excellent food. The bedroom was amazing. We stayed in a cosy double. As suggested it was very cosy. Not the biggest room we have stayed in but it was spacious enough. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both had a great night’s sleep. The bottled water on the side was a lovely touch. In contrast to the public areas downstairs, the rooms offer a much more modern and contemporary feel. The shower was amazing, fluffy towels and lovely toiletries. The breakfast was a modern take on a continental. Meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, yogurts, cereals, eggs, pancakes…. The list goes on. All fresh, mostly local products and beautifully presented. It was the best continental breakfast we’ve had in the UK. Again the staff are very attentive and are passionate about providing excellent customer service. They made us feel special and genuinely wanted our stay to be the best. I look forward to staying here again, and hopefully the restaurant will be open.
