Very mixed experience - in essence everything that has to do with the hotel itself: great, everything that is based on human labor: mediocre. Maybe I was victim of the off-season… Pro - location is beautiful - hotel and room are nice - Spa and Gym are one of the best that I have seen (and I have seen a few 5 star hotels in my life) Contra - service at the reception is basic and not pro-active (you need to ask for everything and they make you feel bad if you ask) - service at the restaurant (evening) is non existing, I needed to go myself to the bar 2 times to order - food is a problem!!! A la carte for dinner was simply not good! Tasteless mushroom soup and the deer filet was a shame: No taste especially the Sauce, only very few dumpling pieces, but a lot tasteless deer. Breakfast is basic for 4 stars and not very suitable for meat- and dairy free experiences I would come back, but probabley not off-season.

The Good (most of all): 1. Outstanding staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, everyone was pleasant and good at what they did. The property is immaculately clean, too. 2. The breakfast buffet was amazing. 3. The hiking trails and views are breathtaking (in both meanings)! 4. Delightful nooks and crannies to discover throughout a beautifully decorated Bavarian hotel. 5. House cats! 6. Great spa for massages and facials. The Bad 1. The design of the balconies/porches off of each room ... there is no partition between neighbors which results in zero privacy on porch. Moreover, neighboring guests could look into our room from their balconies. This would easily be remedied by placing privacy barriers between each porch. This would also help with the Ugly (below). The Ugly Smokers. We would have had a lovely view from our balcony and lovely fresh air from the mountains in our room. However, a chain-smoking couple next door blew smoke onto our porch and into our room at all hours of the day and night. This hotel would do well to completely ban smoking on their grounds. The few guests they might lose would more than be made up by healthy guests flocking to a smoke-free resort.

We spent a wonderful weekend with friends in March at the Tatzlwurm. The service was wonderful as always, the Kiesl family and their staff gave us a warm welcome - feel-good factor times 10! We had a very nice room with a view of the bathing lake, cleanliness and comfort left nothing to be desired. As part of the half-board, there was a delicious menu, plus an excellent selection of wines, all of which was served to us by our charming waiter Patrick, I have rarely seen anyone who was so attentive. A big compliment here! The staff and their friendliness and willingness to serve are what make this house so special. You can tell that this house is family-run, Mrs. Kiesl is always present, the alien attention to detail can be seen in the beautiful decorations. The welcome was warm, the service staff are quick and competent, and Daniel should also be mentioned here, who made us laugh with some of his sayings. Thank you for the great weekend - we will definitely be back!

This review is a little late. We stayed at the hotel in September last year and were very disappointed. We wanted to continue using the wellness area after checking out, but we would have had to pay €80. That's a disgrace considering the room prices. There are other ways to do it. The service at reception was terrible. Probably the owner or hotel manager of the hotel. I was also more than disappointed with the service in the restaurant. We went to the day spa because of the rainy weather, because the modern homepage lured us in. It wasn't a complete disappoin**ent, but it wasn't really worth the price either. For cake you have to get dressed again and go to the restaurant. We were told that you can go into the restaurant in your bathrobe, but then you sit there oily and sweaty among all the other guests. Hygiene is also different. Only the staff at the reception and the bar were very nice and helpful. We won't be coming back.
