Make no mistake, in many ways this hotel is the epitome of luxury. Spa Modern, super clean, quiet and not overly crowded. The large jacuzzi and infinity pool overlooking the Alps were incredible, albeit the pool could be a little bigger. Food The breakfast was good with a decent selection of meats and a choice of egg dishes, although the cereals were very sugary. We did have to wait a couple of times for a table and there were limited places outside. The dining room was fantastic and most of the food was of a high standard, although there were some dishes that were a little 'confused' where we felt that they were trying to be too clever and some dishes had very small portions of meat. Service Generally outstanding. For the first three nights we were served by Frederica and I can honestly say, she was the best waitress I've encountered at any hotel. She clearly has a real gift in terms of hospitality, being incredibly helpful, happy and attentive. She had a day off on our final day and things were not quite as efficient. Drinks/Bar I tried a Pina Colada, which was excellent. On the last night we were there, a pianist was playing so the bar was slightly more busier than the previous three nights. Service was a little on the slow side and despite one of the Managers being present in the bar at one point, there seemed to be only one girl serving. They have an extensive wine list and all of the reds I drank were solid enough, although as you would expect, they are marked up considerably from the usual retail prices. I took part in the wine tasting. Definitely worthwhile doing it. The host (one of the three brothers who run the hotel), was very knowledgeable and the wines tried were all of a good quality as was the prosciutto. Ambience/Location/Room Absolutely fantastic setting, the decor was beautiful and the hotel nice and quiet. The room was perfect, although the window bed was rock hard. Cannot fault it. Missing Clothes I tend to leave packing to the last minute so did not realise until I arrived back to the UK that an expensive Gant hooded top, two t-shirts, swim shorts and a Garmin charger were all missing. They were most definitely there, as both my partner and I saw them in the case and one of the t-shirts I had worn. The charger was plugged in and we simply forgot it. I contacted the reception via email and was told that they had nothing handed in by the cleaners, nor did they have any cameras or other information they could access on who entered the room. It's slightly worrying that this happens in a hotel such as this one. No offer of recompense and short, rather dismissive emails suggesting 'have you checked at home'. A very disappointing end to four nights in a lovely hotel and area generally. Make sure you lock/check your suitcases.
