The Norfolk Mead Hotel

The staff checking us in were lovely and very professional. They advised us that we had been upgraded to their best room, the bridal suite for our one night stay. We certainly weren’t expecting that but we are so grateful. The room was great, a comfortable bed, large bathroom and even our own balcony overlooking the river in the distance. Also a nice tasty treat of some small brownies were left for us. Yummy! The food in the restaurant was so good, we both had the pork and the different tastes of the meal with each bite was something to behold. Again the service was top notch. We loved our short stay and will definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.

Excellent in all aspects, room, meals, service and would recommend it for short or longer stays.Even the weather brightened up.Construction work ongoing but nothing evasive.

We had an amazing stay at the Norfolk Mead Hotel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Samphire Suite which was lovely. The hotel staff were all very professional, polite and friendly. The food was very good. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were all excellent, good quality and well presented. We will definitely be returning when the extended spa facilities are available. Would highly recommend for a romantic getaway.

We love this place. Perfect place for a getaway for the night - lovely rooms and delicious dinner. The service was second to none and the food is always brilliant. We love the restaurant and the wine selection. The location makes for a very relaxing stay

Our second visit to this delightful hotel. We again stayed in the lovely Chanterelle room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. It is a very quiet and restful hotel with attentive and helpful staff. The evening meal was wonderful and the Cote de Boeuf to die for. We felt well rested. Guy REALF

We stayed here the day I proposed to my fiancé. It was fine, the cottage we were in was comfortable and nicely furnished. Some of the staff members were lovely and very accommodating. Others were not. The food was a big let down though (and one of the reasons I chose The Mead), we ordered a £70 steak which came way over cooked. When we said this to the staff they said ‘what do you want me to do about it?’. We said it to a few members of staff but no one tried to resolve the issue or offer anything other than a shrug and a sorry. The rest of the dishes were fine, nothing to write home about. Overall a good stay given what we were celebrating, but wouldn’t rush back given the quality of the food and price.

We went for afternoon tea which was lovely, we were sat in the lounge next to the fire so it was very cosy. The food was very good, fresh, tasty and we took a couple of cakes home as there was plenty and we couldn't finish it all. We have booked to go again! We have also stayed here for a wedding a couple of years ago and it's just such a romantic place. Definitely recommend, the staff are friendly and very helpful too.

We stayed in the Hawthorn Suite which nice but lacked a few features that you would expect in a deluxe suite (No Bath, Very small toilet 3ftx3ft I mean very small, Windows faced other customers that could straight into the Shower room, to use the toilet in the night you have to put the light on in the whole room, No staff on the main bar which closed at 11.15pm then you had to move into the lounge with no toilet facility, After the evening meal the coffee machine had been cleaned down so you could not have a coffee, The food in the hotel was very good and were the staff. Unfortunately that would put us off staying at the Hotel in the Future such a shame Neil Brand

We had our wedding here a couple of weeks back and everything went perfectly. Everything was just as we wanted, we'd had a few meetings with their events team and they were so accommodating through the whole process from start to finish. All the staff throughout all of our visits and particularly on the day were amazing! They were all so kind and excited for us and made the whole day stress free. We decided to decorate the venue ourselves and the staff were more than happy to help us with this too. I couldn't recommend this venue enough, it's in a beautiful walled garden area so you don't feel like the other hotel guests are around, the garden is also so lovely that it feels like you don't need as many decorations as the ceremony room looks out over it. And the food was amazing, all of our guests loved it and there was so much choice to choose from too. It was hard to narrow it down. We had an afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast and it was lovely. Along with canapes both at cocktail hour and in the evening. It's also very well and competitively priced for both the venue and their catering. Definitely one of the most affordable venues around and for the level of care the team puts in, the amazing food and the lovely venue itself it's well worth every penny and much more!
