Local scuttlebutt was saying that ”Ben” the former executive chef from Bendooley was now heading up the kitchen at this iconic local pub. And the great news was, that it was a fact! The newly installed open kitchen and a real pro who's not afraid to experiment has created a great combination for diners. It was a full step up from previous experiences there and the food looked fresh and amazing with large portions as you would expect in a pub, as well as reasonably priced. I had the Chicken Schnitzel which is the ultimate test of pub fare and believe me it didn't disappoint on bit. Beautifully cooked and balanced off with a generous serving of big chips and very yummy coleslaw. I also ordered a side dish of wood fired pumpkin and chip-peas, absolutely delicious and worth the extra. My wife had the Crab Linguine, and it it looked amazing and supper fresh. She was over the moon and the best version she believes is currently being done in the region. This will become a signature dish as it was at his last restaurant. The services by the friendly staff.was warm and casual but efficient and you could tell they enjoyed working at this venue and proud of the new changes and the great food. We look forward to the other new changes in the decor and them nights that is coming soon as well as coming back regularly to get our fix.
