Burford Lodge Hotel - Adults Only Reviews

Spent two nights at this beautifully and recently renovated hotel an easy walk into Burford’s famous High Street. Andrea our host could not have done more for us. She was lovely. We had the jacuzzi room which was fun and spacious. No traffic sounds at all. Breakfast was very nice and the breakfast, bar and sitting area is perfect. The whole hotel is in great condition. Delighted to find this haven in our happy place in the Cotswolds and would happily recommend it. And many thanks Andrea for your delightful hospitality.

Stayed here for two nights for a little countryside getaway using Burford as a base to explore some of the Cotswolds. We had a really lovely stay, with the owner Andrea being incredibly welcoming and kind, and gave us valuable local knowledge on where to explore. We were even lucky enough to get a free room upgrade which was wonderful. The room was clean and tidy with lovely fluffy towels complete with wifi booster, kettle with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits and basic toiletries. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast was really nice with fresh juices, tea, coffee and hot and continental breakfast options. Would definitely recommend, very good value for money and it's clear since taking over Andrea has put a lot of hard work into the hotel.

Visiting family for a couple of days used this place as a base. Friendly professional owners who made the stay personal and very pleasant. Excellent value for money considering the rates for other establishments in the same area. Rooms were clean and homely, Facilities were good including hair dryer tea and coffee in the room and soft clean towels changed daily. Breakfast was amazing and the bar area was welcoming and had a lovley atmosphere with plenty of choice. All in all a perfect little break. Thank you and good luck with your new venture. We stayed at this bb worse experience ever paid 255 pounds for a twin room for 2 nights .room was so dusty we coukd taste it carpets was disgusting stains and never been hovered. Tv never worked properly kept going off the wall next to bed was coverd in mould .on first night we went out came back around 9pm could not get door in main reception to our room then we noticed a sign that said use side door which we had trouble finding because it was dark .when we did get In room it was so cold because there was no heating on so we wanted to ring owner of building but there was no contact number when I showed owner he said its a bb not hotel and laughed when I showed him dust on picture .radiator was hanging off wall .plus in bathroom electric fire cable had hole going in to live wires I said to him if children put finger in hole they would get electric shock he said to us why would a child put his finger in there owner found every thing funny and said its a bb not a hotel .worse place we have ever stayed please do not go no where near the place

Nice hotel conveniently situated for easy walk into burford with bonus of free parking. Hotel staff pleasant. Room comfortable but like some of the areas could do with a fresh coat of paint and modernising some of the furniture. Breakfast was very good....would recommend the porridge, good sized English breakfast.

Great location at Burford Lodge to use local bus service ( bus stop ) few minutes walk away . After good night sleep comfy bed a full English breakfast we got bus to Witney & Woodstock & Oxford using concession bus pass so free travel. Car left ..

The location was good, and that's about the only good thing. The 'quiet' room was loud as it was next to the main road. The rooms were quite dusty. There was a light in the room that didn't turn off so room was bright all night. The worst thing is that the hotel used my personal details to sign me up for spam mail from oil companies without my permission or knowledge. I get constant emails and texts and no way to unsubscribe. Very unimpressed.

Disappointing. Tired and in need of updating. Black damp around the windows, uncomfortable bed. Very friendly …. And breakfast was good, but the room was sadly neglected. Just disappointing, Not worth the high cost if the overnight.

Avoid!!!! Booked and tried to change date less than 12 hrs later, due to my partner being poorly. Owner wouldn't change the date and charged me the full amount. Rang back and he pretended he couldn't hear me on the phone! JOKE!!! Passed it since and it looks run down and right next to the main Oxford the A40 so will be noisy. Soooooooo glad we didn't stay!!!!!!

Please never come here the room is ok but door stop is a Hoover nozzle There is no one on site overnight and you are not told how to get in when you get back Bar should close at 10pm but all closed up by 8pm I will never stay here again and no one should really poor service house

We stayed at the Travelodge at Burford. Wonderful staff. Professional, warm, friendly welcome. Specially Cheryl and Kim. Cheryl superb knowledge of surrounding villages and of other interesting destination’s. Also Cheryl detailed advice on local transport times and travel helped us to enjoy our visit. Ronald and I enjoyed our interesting, fun conversation so much we wanted to stay and chat further with them both. We will definitely be staying at this Travallodge again. After finding disappointment at the Bell at Stow (see previous review) My husband and I called around and found the Burford Lodge for the same night trip. On arrival the host was charming, allowing us to view the two remaining rooms for space. We were delighted to find for an extra £7 or so we had nearly twice the space, room to place our overnight bags and room to exit the bed without having to crawl over or down the bed. Our host explained that his family had bought the hotel a few years ago and were from China. he was courtious and helpful in finding us a place for dinner that night, sadly they were did not have a chef so chinese food was not avaliable. Our room was lovely, the trip down into Burford quick and we had a wonderful breakfast the following day. From what could have been a disaster we found a great place after all. Moral of the story, dont settle for a broom cupboard, if a nicely decorated one, vote with your feet and find somewhere else better instead.!
