Villa Garbo

La Californie Pezou Cannes|1.29km from Villa Domergue
I just tried writing a review but realized I was not logged in so writing again just in case. Villa Garbo was just perfect and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I was traveling with my niece and my sister. It was our first time in Cannes and we wanted a nice place where we could all stay together. We were originally going to stay in a family suite at Hotel Martinez because we thought it was right on the beach. We discovered though that none of the hotels along the Croisette are actually on the beach, you still have to cross the Croisette to get to them. You also have to rent sun loungers even if you are guest. And you can rent sun loungers without being a guest. We reserved first row sun loungers from Hotel Croisette Beach (you can email them and reserve in advance) and it's a safe easy walk, just under 5 minutes. We were able to get a much nicer place (a two bedroom penthouse) with all the benefits of staying right on the beach. Villa Garbo is has a cool hip vibe. You get the benefit of staying at a boutique style hotel but instead of a small room, you get a beautiful apartment with lots of space to move around. If it's available, I would highly recommend the Penthouse. It was amazing. We got a bonus one night when there was a spectacular fireworks display from a wedding that was taking place nearby. We had the best view in the city from our own private terrace. It was spectacular. I think there are often fireworks in July and August so you might get a treat too!

A price-quality ratio due to the location (8' walk from the beach through the beautiful Cannes neighborhoods, so very safe) and the recent renovation of the entire hotel! Effective breakfast buffet for the price, very welcome staff, 7 floors, room fully equipped with terrace for the 7th floor with view on the massif of l'Esterel and above the roofs of the buildings of Cannes, any neighbourhood store Here is a Chez U and ****** 2 ́ walk, and to fill all a underground parking and all the security equipped with surveillance videos and a staff 24h/24h !

I really want to like this hotel but there were a few things that were just not appropriate and this place has great potential but it needs some love! I was originally given a room that was great as far as size and bathroom, in fact, the room even had a big balcony with lounge chairs and a table for four, but….there was an awful odor in the room, like mold or a dead animal. I switched rooms before even unpacking and moved just across the hall, the room was a nice size, had a nice balcony, and a decent bathroom (the shower was tiny). The carpeting had stains, one of the sinks had a big chip in it, and when I used the shower, the water ran into the entire bathroom and room. Additionally, there was no iron or ironing board, no coffee maker, no soap dish (they provide bar soap but nowhere to put it), no clock (I realize this is not a big deal anymore since people use their phones l), no USB ports. This place could be a great boutique hotel by just replacing some furniture and soft goods, flooring, and providing amenities.

The hotel is very nice, it is clean, the receptionists were all very helpful and friendly, the airconditioning was a little bit weak sometimes, but if you turn it up to maximum, it works properly, and the location is also perfect, the beach is close, there are bakeries and shops nearby, the railway station is also just a few minutes walk away. I can only say good things about is, our stay at the hotel and in Cannes was just great.

Stayed in classic room which was very spacious and rooms were very quiet. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast included. Large indoor pool area or you can pay 20 euro to use rooftop pool for the day. There is a carpark but you need to book a space as they are limited and it is very hard to find. Turn right into the street just before the hotel and about 50metres up that road on the left is a roller door. Press buzzer and they will let you in. No signage on roller door.
