This is a charming B&B in a very quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to Carlton's main street. The rooms were HUGE and beautifully appointed. Very comfortable beds, a very "homey" feel to the whole place. Breakfasts were delicious, the proprietors were warm and friendly but not intrusive or chatty. I would HIGHLY recommend this B&B! We will definitely stay there again.

Got the master suite of this beautiful old inn, formerly the home of a wealthy infrastructure magnate. Master is called the Rose Room, and it’s the largest room we’ve ever stayed in. King bed, huge dresser, couch, multiple chairs including a chaise, table and 4 chairs, very much a suite. Bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, stall shower, toilette, bidet, and a sink; another sink is in the master room. A small refrigerator in the small lounge between the Rose Room and the Lavender Room, for your beverages. Friends of ours stayed in the Lavender Room and we could relax together in the lounge between the two rooms. Great hosts, good breakfast, (and the hosts accommodated my food sensitivities), super comfortable week. Went to Willamette wine tasting with another couple. Stayed in Carlton, very centrally located, small town, and fun short walking area. Two top restaurants are Earth & Sea, and Cuvee, walking distance from R. R. Thompson House. Great choice! We had a lovely time. The room was very clean and comfortable. The Air B&B is located in a way that made it easy to walk to diners. Roselyn and Mike were very good hosts. I will return. I highly recommend RR Thompson.

The good: The location is great, a quiet road and walking distance to restaurants in town. We stayed in a room that is not a suite and it’s an adequate size for 2 people- there’s room to move around the bed, and a fairly large bathroom. It had an AC that kept the room pretty cool even on a hot day, as well as a small fan (which we did not use because it was extremely loud). The owners were nice and offered information about the home and the area. The price for the weekend was lower than most comparable options in the area. The not-as-good: The home could use some updating and a deep cleaning. The entryway gate, stairs, and doorway are very narrow and difficult to bring luggage through. A fan and fire extinguisher sat on the ground in the hall, which made getting luggage past them difficult. There was dust in the room, and on items in the second floor sitting area. Lots of chips in furniture and on dishes, DIY paint/repairs on walls and around the shower etc. Mold stains on the curtain liner. There’s no water in the room besides bathroom tap water so you need to get bottled water for the room. The wi-fi also did not work during our stay. The bed is advertised as pillow top and it was rather firm. Not all windows had coverings so the room was bright in the morning. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment- at other B&Bs I’ve stayed in that also advertised multi-course breakfasts, the entree is cooked fresh to order during the other courses, and the courses all appeared fresh. The website description did not match the meal at all here- it described fresh local berries; our fruit plate was a piece of banana, single slice of orange, some grapes and such each morning and from photos and reviews it seems that’s been the case for years. The fruit is served on a plate covered in wrap, and you remove the wrap yourself and eat it- it does not appear very fresh. The cheese comes the same way, and single small pieces of cheese. We forgot to include an allergen in our reservation but mentioned it at check in and were told it wasn’t served one day but was planned for the other day but it would only have a “sprinkling” of it, which was an odd response- we expected they’d confirm they’d leave an allergen off. He then seemed to realize that wasn’t a satisfactory response and said he could leave it off. Yet, both days the allergen was served to the person with the allergy, which was rather surprising. The entrees were not very hot either day, and honestly not very well-made; they lacked flavor and had strange textures that made us wonder if they’re pre-made and then sat in a warmer or recooked, and the ingredients again did not seem fresh (several seemed to be canned/frozen and then heated). We did not finish our meals either day and were left hungry. The French press was also served with water that was not hot enough one day- guessing it was also prepared in advance and left sitting out (though we arrived exactly on time). I would recommend they change the descr

My husband and I stayed recently, had a room on the 3rd floor. It was a warm time in Oregon but our air conditioner and fan kept us cool. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked and had a hair blower. Have read a bunch of reviews regarding breakfast. I know the owners try to make it good but I offer a few tips to stop getting bad reviews. Put in a large Keurig machine in the dining area with a variety of coffee that guests can help themselves to. Even before breakfast a coffee would be nice. Do not prepare the fruit the night before and keep out of the fridge. Fruit is much more flavorful if not so cold. This would solve your bad breakfast reviews! Otherwise the hosts were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you

This bed and breakfast was a fantastic location and we were able to walk through town and wine taste right from the front door. Mike and Roselyn were very sweet and breakfast was so delicious that we had to try to recreate it when we got home!

We spent the first weekend in June at this wine country gem. The home is filled with European style, the breakfasts are delicious (the most perfect omelette!), and the lilac room was so cozy -complete with a lovely bathroom including a jacuzzi tub. The gracious owners have created something beautiful and unpretentious.

The location of this B&B was the best part for our group. After a day of traipsing around wine country, to be able to walk to an incredible dinner at Cuvee in Carlton (three blocks away on Main Street) or to get some additional coffee or a breakfast pastry at Carlton Bakery (also a three block distance) was the highlight. Carlton is such a charming little town, so we loved being so close. The B&B is not on Main Street but in the adjacent neighborhood. Still very quiet and safe. No real views though of the beautiful countryside outside of Carlton. My wife and I stayed in the Lavender Suite. Tons of space, plenty of furniture, a comfortable bed, and clean. There was an ironing board but we couldn't locate an iron. Our group hung out in our room because the rest were in smaller rooms on the third floor. The Lavender Suite did not have AC, but there was a good fan and we opened windows to get some airflow. Mike and Roselyn were very sweet hosts who wanted to get to know us and gave us suggestions on local activities. They clearly take good care of this B&B. Now, about the breakfasts. Mike as the chef is a very good cook, and he prepared a favorable omelette and some very good French toast on a different day. The fruit plate is prepared the night before and in the refrigerators, so that is less than ideal, but I get the impression that is how they have always done it, and they have been doing it this way for a long while. The cheese and nuts "course" is two small servings of white and orange cheddar cheese and a few almonds. The coffee made by French press was hot and good one day, but cold the next. So summary is don't stay here for the breakfasts, and we supplemented both days at Carlton Bakery. The earliest available breakfast time was 9 am, which was later than we hoped.
