Le Dune Sicily Hotel

This hotel is located right next to the beach, so if you are looking to have a beach holiday, then this is a good choice. The pool area of this hotel was also quite nice. We liked the beautiful yard and the room, which was nice and quite spacious. Underneath the bed there was a lot of dust, that was never cleaned during our visit. Otherwise the cleaning was good. Carolina at the reception was excellent, always so helpful and kind. Other receptionists were also nice. The breakfast was good and the darkest waiter boy was always so kind when he brought us coffee. There is a bus that takes you to the city centre right outside the hotel, but the schedule is very unreliable, so expect a lot of waiting. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was as lousy as all the other reviews say. Wish we had believed them. The waiter forgot about us completely for over an hour, even though we arrived just when the restaurant opened and there weren't other people before us. He just didn’t bother to bring the dishes until 1 hour later when we were tired of waiting and already about to leave. When we finally received the dishes, the pasta was the worst I have ever had. The smell was awful like from the sewage, the taste was even worse and the texture of the sauce was like poop. We have never tasted something so horrible in our lives. Extremely disappointed with the service provided in the restaurant.

In the beginning I felt a bit underwhelmed but the looks, the street and the room and especially the beds/ mattress. However on day 2 I got a new mattress so I slept better. Room was small but ok for me. Cleaning was very good ! Shower very small indeed but doable and one gets used to the place and size of room and shower. After a few days I felt more and more relaxed there: right at the beach, some restaurants in a ten minute walk range and personnel was in my opinion always friendly, especially some at reception and cleaning ladies. Parking was never a real problem however in summer I can imagine it can get crowded with guests and cars... TV worked but no international channels. Pool was empty due to being winter. Did not try the spa nor gym. Good to see they also give opportunities to refugees to work at the hotel. So after a week I almost felt at home as I got used to everything. Breakfast was ok but not that many salted options and freshness of produce not 100 percent but again ok. Only thing that kept bothering me is the bas isolation to the outside of the rooms so that the busy street traffic could still be heard in the room even if all was closed but again something one can get used to.

Our room was separate from the hotel in an old building. We had a night to spend as had an early morning flight. The room should not be allowed to be marketed even. It was so cramped, had no facilities to make tea/ coffee, bed was uncomfortable. Worst was the shower room, the wall had a big hole and the shower screen was completed rusted. We were so tired so didn’t get a chance to click pics. I regretted staying in such a place even if for few hours. Horrible experience.

I've given 2 stars, one for proximity and ease if access to airport. The other for the pool, which was lovely, apart from if you sat at one side, which stank of effluent. Also the bar was very expensive. The room was basic and the bed/pillow the most uncomfortable ever experienced. The door to our room looked as if it had once been kicked in, making us feel rather insecure. One male staff member was very dismissive and most unhelpful with a really bad attitude. No way is it a 3 star hotel! I would not recommend it.

Very sad, it could be better , as the picture promised , very old and dirty .. i hope they will clean more in the future , i love sicily but people are very care less in keeping clean 😢 and very expensive also , one granita with brioss cost 7€ 😣😣reallyyy!!! Please ..

Staff were really kind and helpful. Breakfast’s were good. The beach was really close to hotel and i think it was a great point because i took shower immediately after beach in my room but the beach had showers too. The room was clean and cosy. The pool was clean and nice. And it had easy access to the city center. We had perfect 5 nights there.

Good memories We had a good 5 nights there. Cozy and clean room Clean pool Nice breakfast Very polite and friendly staff We only had two lunches from the pool bar, the quality was relatively good and the price was good. But I suggest you go to the restaurants in the city in Catania and enjoy the fresh and excellent flavors of local food and drinks.

Stayed 1 night due to our flight changing date due to the fire at catania airport Staff really friendly particularly the man who checked us in and the night time staff. Room was lovely- great bathroom and air con, comfy firm bed, very clean Pool area great, Good prices on drinks Only thing that took it down to 4 stars was the restaurant, annoying that didn't have physical menus having to scroll on phone and the English menu was incorrect so we had to reorder with the waiter standing Next to us so we felt under pressure. Food did take a while to come and weren't asked about more drinks/condiments, told to enjoy meal or checked back on Still would definitely stay again for longer just probably would go elsewhere for dinner

Terrible . Starting from dinner .Little amount of food starter little portion pasta and after an hour main dish chicken ceaser salad . Pfff kept hungry. Breakfast lots if items finished from table ex bread cheese u have to point out to the waiter and to have tea or coffee you have to follow a long que at the bar to achieve one. Ac very old and noisy in bedroom and in dining area not working good and we had to eat in a hot atmosphere. Although we told the waiter he only said sorry and left. No way i m going back
