Run away! You can hear every sound from the other rooms: snoring, doors slamming, furniture moving, every little movement! -The air conditioning doesn't work. - Wifi doesn’t work and mobile phone doesn’t work inside the bedrooms. - It's like being in a campsite, hearing and living with other people! When I reported this to the receptionist the next morning, she was obnoxious, didn't listen, had no empathy, and questioned my word: a disgrace! That's no way to treat a customer. She even reproached and accused me of having called the night receptionist, no apology, no commercial gesture! I wrote 2 e-mails to the hotel manager: he never had the respect to reply or apologize. - Breakfast: plastic eggs, chemical orange juice with bits of filthy deposits (see photo), - customer service: not up to 3-star standards. You're just a walking bank to them. Thanks God I'd only booked one night! A beautiful hotel on the outside, old-fashioned on the inside, but the worst thing is the morning receptionist: no sense of customer service and diffamatory remarks. In France she would be fired. Horrible experience. I booked another hotel with sea view the following night. So : AVOID this HALEPA hotel with no manager no manners no respect and noisy nightmare

This is a lovely hotel in an elegant old building. The rooms are fully modernised and the staff couldn't be more helpful. It is in a quiet spot which is a delightful 20 minute walk into Chania old town. Breakfast in the hotel garden is a joy. I can even forgive the cold fried eggs. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Halepa for 6 days, July 14-21. Halepa Hotel is one of the best hotel experiences ever. A unique atmosphere and historic building nicely converted to a top hotel facility. Kostas Chrysanthos, the GM, and his staff engaged personally in making the stay a highly memorable experience for me and my family. Thanks Kostas for your hospitality and kindness! Great Cretan white wine experience and thanks a lot for the gifts!

The Halepo hotel is situated uptown and in a quiet area ..Some 20mim. walk from the old town and harbor facing the sea, that is if you book one of the 2 rooms at the front of the hotel. It's a nostalgic building from the early 1900's. & one should expect at least some class in service..., well i didn't! I booked a full week in advance in the so called "best room" (Premium Superior Double on the website) in the old part of the house facing the courtyard and the sea" at €220,- per night. It's the room on the first floor on the righthand side of the stairs that is so prominent seen on pictures on the website of the Halepo Hotel and once you enter the Hotel. However to my surprise i was placed in the front room on the lefthand side seen from outside although i had booked the front room on the right. Further more there wasn't an airconditioning.? Although the website says with airconditioning! I wasn't pleased with that at first but for the rest it looked allright and i didn't want to make a fuss and so i decided to let it be. Second night at about 1.30 am i woke up due to a loud noise of voices outside the hotel coming from the terras/courtyard in front of the hotel where this Premium Superior Double room has its view on. Some 12 people/ guests who checked in that afternoon were sitting in the courtyard being served several bottles of wine consequently making a huge noise. After 2 times speaking to the night porter at the reception, who btw turned out to be the one responsible for serving the wine promised me to take action, i had to get out of my bed again and asked these (drunk) people to quiet down which to no surprise didn't help and actually got into almost a fight.. The next morning the manager (probably the son of a sheepfarmer with dito manners) 'apologized' to me and said that it wouldn't happen again. For me however felt that i couldn't take the risk of stayin' longer and have the rest of my stay there screwed again. I said i wanted to leave and have at least a refund for half that week (ca €650,-) He first said that according to the hotel policy only 5% could be given and it was me to blame that i hadn't been friendly to his guests who made the noise the other night. And then out of the blue he said he didn't like my attitude and he wasn't going give me anything.... I answered "good for you be happy with it if you desperatly need money so much" knowing there was nothing more for me than to take my loss of €650,- and leave. Fortunatly i found myself within minutes walking the most lovely place i could ever wish for called the Domo where i booked the top floor penthouse with a one million dollar view overlooking the sea and the old town of Chania still run by the Koutsoudakis family for over 50 years! The most warmth and true welcome i've ever experienced in my life! From hell to heaven one could say. And so if your looking for genuine class and nostalgia i recommend you to see the Domo hotel rather than that fake Halepo place..where i booke

A beautiful boutique hotel that used to be the British Embassy way back in history. The staff are the most AMAZING, super helpful, attentive and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I will stay here again, super close to everything.

We stayed at this hotel in April, and were not disappointed. The location is on the edge of Chania town close to the Museum of Archaeology. The room was clean comfortable and spacious and all the hotel staff friendly, eager to help and efficient! The breakfast was super with a great selection of delicious food to be eaten outside in the gardens or on the roof terrace (or inside if that's your preference!). It's a lovely place and was the British Embassy in the mid-1800s but now completely modernised in a tasteful way! We loved it and it made for a special holiday. In a peaceful location away from the noise and bustle of the city cente so a bit of a walk (downhill) into the town and nightlife.

Stayed here for two weeks for work-related travel. The staff was amazing: warm, friendly, and genuinely proud of the hotel. The room was very comfortable, very clean, and excellently maintained. The location is ideal, as it is located directly across from the water, and within easy walking distance to several restaurants and shops. I am planning a pleasure trip back to Chania (Crete) and will hopefully be able to book at the Halepa!

Superb hotel with great location and old world charm. Nikos and Elefteria at the front desk were excellent hosts. My family enjoyed a wonderful 3 week stay. The breakfasts were superb. I recommend this boutique hotel to everyone looking for a great value near the city center and walking distance to the Venetian Port. Thanks again to the hotel staff for our magnificent stay.
