The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. The staff was not friendly like I would’ve expected in Charleston. Parking was a BIG problem. There is barely any parking at the hotel, so you have to park in a garage. The problem is, there’s no easy entrance as a pedestrian to get to and from. You have to walk halfway around the parking garage to get back to your car. That’s fine on a nice day, but it was rainy during our trip so we were wet and messy before our day even started. Also, when you check out, you can’t just load your car, you have to go get it, then load. As a mom traveling, this did not work for us. Plus they charged us for parking. Something to consider when booking this hotel.

I could hear what was going on in the adjoining rooms, and hallways very clearly. Zero soundproofing.

Very few properties in Charleston met our price point. While this one did, my impression is they strive to add on additional fees because they can, not that they add any value. There’s an $8/day fee that in one place was called a resort fee and in another place was called a tourism fee. Don’t know what this fee was for other than to bleed more money out of us. There is also a $15/day parking fee for a small surface lot at the hotel or a parking garage next door shared with Publix. The room was good, very quiet hotel, at least until the fire alarm went off at 2:30 am the last night we were there. They did knock off a day of parking off our bill due to the inconvenience. Breakfast had many options and plenty of seating. While the heat/air would turn on and off as indicated, the fan itself ran the entire time, even with the unit in the off position. Don’t know that we would stay here again.

Property is well maintained but there was no sign me at the front desk and when the arrived they repeatedly tried to find anything to charge me for despite having paid all fees including parking prior to check in

The shower glass door would not stay shut. The water pressure was non existent. Shower had hair on the walls. Maintenance had to come turn the dehumidifier off because it was too loud.

Let us check in late and also check out an hour late. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but I think it’s due to be an older property.

I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels. This Holiday Inn either needs a deep cleaning or at the very least, a good touch up. The room felt dirty. I checked the beds for bugs (no bugs!) and I did not take my shoes off until I was ready for bed. There was so much grime on the light switch beside the beds, I felt like I needed to use gloves to turn the lights on and off. There were small missing patches in the ceiling, which gave me the feeling that the hotel is not cared for well. Also, the bathroom was tiny and the shower did not look clean. On the plus side, the beds were fairly comfortable, the lobby is very nice and the breakfast was pretty good!

Staff was very personable, room need repairs, the hotel had a smell. Only place to eat within walking distance was McDonald and KofC. Parking at the hotel was horrific.

I liked that it was located conveniently close to the historic district using uber transportation. The included breakfasts were a bonus with lots of choices and good quality food.

We came for the Charleston Half Marathon and stayed one night. The staff was great! The room needed the shower to be fixed it leaked from the inside out and the toilet needed to be sealed at bottom it moved.

Staff was superb! I was in a very stressful situation with my husband in the hospital and they handled my stay there with such grace.

The room was exceedingly small, the bed was realy firm, parking was an additional charge not revealed in advance and the location was in a depressed area not conducive to walking at night.

Well maintained, clean property. Too far from historic section although advertised in the historic area location
