Stayed 2 nights - used as a base for day trips to Hakone (Odawara is included in Hakone Freepass and it's 15 min train to Hakone-Yumoto). 5 min walk to Odawara train station. Pics on website are accurate - this is more like an AirBNB - very clean and new. Detergent provided for combo washer/dryer & there's a separate drying rack. Full size refrigerator, 3-burner stove top, grill. Front desk on-site during day only; front door locked at night. Access off-hours is thru side-door using individual code with smart lock. Room access worked same way. Be aware all instructions are in Japanese (no English translations) - we used Google translate to figure out how to operate appliances. Hot water needs to be turned on (switch panel on wall beside kitchen). Nice to have plenty of living space in Japan.
This hotel is in a really convenient location about a three minute walk from Odawara station. A previous review said that it was in a bad area - I disagree - yes there were a couple of bars nearby but nothing in Odawara is particularly seedy and we felt completely safe, even coming back at night. Nor did we hear noise at night time. Although the rooms are small, the place was scrupulously clean and we had every facility in our room that we needed (except for wardrobe space) so we lived out of our suit case for a week. The staff were friendly and there were fresh towels and water left every day. At reception there was a range of free items such as robes, toothbrushes, wash cloths etc that you could pick up as you needed Odawara is a charming little town and a good base for exploring the area. My son was teaching there and we spent a couple of days in Tokyo, saw Mount Fuji from Hakone, visited Yokohama and Kamakura and even went on a longer trip to Sendai which by Shinkansen (changing in Tokyo) was possible for a day trip.
The hotel is near nothing, so be prepared to take the shuttle to Odawara Station (40 minutes) or Nebukawa Station (7 minutes). The Odawara shuttle doesn't operate on the weekends and only runs between 10-5 pm on weekdays. The rooms have furniture that is stained and in need of an upgrade, and there are no USB ports in the rooms. All that being said, the facility is great for kids! The pool area is more like a water park with a huge bubbling pool, several calm circular pools, a bubble chair pool, an indoor/outdoor pool, and a hot tub cave. And if you aren't in the mood for swimming, they have an arcade with claw machines, gatcha machines, karaoke rooms, and a full bowling alley. The restaurants were very accommodating to our vegetarian needs but had limited choices. Overall, I would stay here again just for the pool experience - it was that good!
We used it for a single night. It is a hotel near the station, but I don't hear the sound of the train and I think it is a relatively quiet environment. However, the walls of the room are thin, so I heard the sound of the voice and the door opening and closing from the corridor. The room I stayed in was room 719, and it was a room where the elevator was always heard. Thanks to the nerves, the nerves are reduced and the sleep is insufficient (-_-) The room was not so large, so the air conditioner was very good and comfortable. It is good that the bed is large and there is a reading light on the pillow. Cleanliness is perfect. Breakfast is distributed in the lobby on the first floor from around 6:30 in the morning, and you can eat it even if you bring it to your room. There are several types of lunch boxes, I think it was good to be able to choose according to my preference. In addition to lunch boxes, there were drinks, miso soup and salad.
This hotel is very confusing. The price is calculated by the number of people. This price is for one person. If two people stay together, they need to pay an additional 600. Anyway, this kind of confusing operation abroad is not the first time I have encountered it.
All Japanese hotels cannot open windows, so the rooms are stuffy and the air in the rooms is poor. But people who live a good life seem to have such rules, unless they stay in a homestay, which should be better. Their hygiene is still relatively good, which is recognized by the world. The sense of service is also relatively strong, and it is very appropriate to describe them as nodding and bowing. It is worth learning, very polite. Habitual praise
The hostel is located on the second floor of an apartment building. The room is very new and overall very comfortable and very clean with a cozy lobby. Compared to other youth hostels I stayed in, there were particularly many Western tourists carrying large hiking bags.
Since the business district of Odawara City is concentrated around the station, there are few restaurants and supermarkets near the hostel, and there are no washers and dryers provided. It takes you approximately 8 minutes to walk to the laundry and the centered area of the city. But overall it is still very comfortable, and it is recommended for solo travelers!

Enoura Observatory
ぶぶんぷく1024It's a mysterious and luxurious space where art, architecture and gardens are mixed together✨
I've been really curious about it for a while, and when I actually went there, I was amazed by the location, the building, the various "stones" of different eras and contrasting forms, the architecture and galleries created based on the relationship between the path of the sun (summer solstice and winter solstice) and the horizon in nature...
The scale is so grand, and it's not even finished yet, and the area is still expanding...
It's so luxurious to see it created like this. I guess that's the best part of being an artist...🧐
Admission is by reservation only, and there are many young people there, probably because they want to take Instagram photos, so they're taking photos everywhere!
It's a place that depends on the weather, but it's worth visiting once! !
Odawara Castle Park
Ddwj-From Kamakura, I transferred to Odawara and prepared to return to Hakone Hot Springs. I walked to Odawara City in about 10 minutes. Odawara City also knocked down and repaired some of it and changed to a citizen park. The surrounding territories at the bottom of the city were basically converted into schools.
