The room is relatively spacious, clean and hygienic, and the breakfast buffet is good. It’s just that the price is higher during the graduation ceremony period.

The hotel environment is very good, the rooms are spacious and there is a kitchen to do it yourself. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I have the opportunity to come to Ithaca. The only bad thing is that the sound insulation is average. I can hear the sound of cars on the road and the sound of footsteps outside the door, but it is not a problem for me and I feel comfortable living. This hotel offers a free breakfast, so you don't need to choose a breakfast-included rate when ordering at Ctrip. The hotel offers free parking and is ten minutes away from Cornell University.

Pros: Facilities were clean and the room was spacious. The hotel was pretty quiet, and the café downstairs serves a decent breakfast. Cons: customer service was pretty bad. When we checked in we were informed that the pool was available but the fitness center was under construction and we could take a shuttle 20 minutes to a planet fitness if we wanted to use a gym. That is not a very convenient option. Also, when we got to our room, it was hot and stuffy. After a few hours with the thermostat set to 66, there was no improvement. when I called the front desk, they said they were having issues with the air conditioning throughout the building, they had no ability to diagnose the issue, no one working on it, and no real solution. They offered to bring a fan, then forgot, and after an hour of waiting, I called and was told that the person who was supposed to bring it had gone on break and forgot about the request. Sleeping in a stuffy, hot and humid room was very difficult. The window was screwed shut. When I asked if we could have someone open it, staff member told me I would have to track down a manager and ask them, because they didn’t know if that was allowed. Isn’t that their job to ask a manager to help a guest? When I voiced my concerns to the agent at the front desk, there was no apology, and no attempt to try to make things better. When I asked if we could be moved to a room with a window that opened, she said they didn’t know which windows opened and which didn’t and they were full anyways, so there was nothing they could do. I have stayed at a number of Marriotts across the country, and this was definitely the most uncomfortable stay, and the least caring staff I have encountered.

The service is very good. Most of the front desk staff and concierge are university interns. They are very sunny and love their internship work, which is very impressive.

The room is so small, cleaning every day is to change garbage bags and bath towels. But the staff is very welcoming, the location is close to Connor, every day to go out to eat to climb the slope, who let that is Kangcun 😂

Hilton Garden Inn has always been my go-to place, and although I have enjoyed my stay at every single one I have gone to so far (Evanston IL and Springfield MA), this Ithaca location has been the best one thus far. We came to Ithaca to visit the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and upon discovering that Ithaca had a HGI, we booked right away. Every single staff member at Ithaca was patient, more than willing to help, and gave just the right information at the right time. The care and attentiveness actually started a few days before our check-in day, with Jessica and Rachel responding to any question I had asked. I appreciated that the wellness texts continued during our visit as well. There were two restaurants onsite, and the area also has many eateries that we grew to love (especially CollegeTown Bagels!). Parking was conveniently across the street from the onsite Starbucks. The entire room was clean, beds were very comfortable for the weary travelers, and as an added touch, the front lobby featured delicacies that were made by local businesses. I really appreciated that connection to the community, and believe that it definitely puts the Ithaca location above all others. Whenever we are back in Ithaca, we will be sure to book at HGI Ithaca again. Thank you so much for a memorable and pleasant stay!

The room and amenities are first class. Breakfast at $16 plus tip was abysmal. Eggs were dry. No fruit. No juice. Potato hashbrowns were soggy. When asked about fresh fruit or juice was told there was a supply issue. Went to 7-11 a few blocks away and they had a whole shelf of fresh cut fruit. A hotel of this caliber should have a full breakfast!!

We visit Ithaca in late December almost every year, and have been staying at the Ithaca Marriott for several years in a row. It's a lovely place and, as ever, we weren't disappointed:we had a perfect New Year's holiday stay. Front desk personnel were really kind and accommodating. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and we had a partial view of the Commons, something you don't always get as a budget traveler. We were treated very well throughout our stay, and we didn't want for anything. I even used the gym - trying to start the New Year right! And a very nice surprise: the Marriott provided a lovely breakfast for all guests on New Year's Day, complete with really good coffee. Very thoughtful! Thank you!

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in August 2022 . I had booked our reservation 2 months prior but when I arrived was told by the gentleman at the desk that there was no reservation under my name. I'm glad i kept my cool and asked him to look up our confirmation number because he then was able to find the reservation (booked under my name). This was a somewhat unpleasant way to start our stay at this hotel but the gentleman seemed very overwhelmed as he was on the desk alone and had a line of people to check in. Our room was ok, seemed clean enough. The king bed was comfortable though the pillows could have been nicer (luckily we brought our own pillows). The main issue we experienced during our stay was lack of security. Three of the 4 nights that we stayed there there were a number of folks hanging around outside smoking (cigarettes and ****) and at the end of the long hall where we were located there was a group that was having nightly barbeques just outside the door. There was no security on any of the doors to the outside which seemed unsafe to me. There seemed to be a lot of folks loitering around the property, smoking and drinking and it seemed like many of them were not hotel guests. if I had been traveling alone i would have felt very unsafe at this property. Some security features around this hotel would elevate it quite a bit. Overall we had a nice stay in Ithaca but I would think twice before staying at this hotel, especially if I was traveling alone.
