Howard Johnson by Wyndham College Park

Let me start by saying the staff was wonderful!! Very hospitable and helpful. Check in was easy. Even called an Uber to get us to the airport. Would give them 15 stars. We got clean towels out of a sealed package. Bed looked clean. That's where the good ends. The furniture in room and lobby looked like it survived the seventies and was there when the place first opened. Trash overflowing in the walkways. Door lock worked, but was busted inside and out. Closet door was hanging on it's hinges. Holes in the wall. Stained bathtub. Dead roaches IN the fridge, live ones crawling around it. Lamp shades were filthy and dented in. End table was rusted. Both the shower curtain and window curtain were hanging of the rods. Floor was nasty. I have stayed in some dives in my many years of traveling, but this was by far the worst room I have ever stayed in. I find it hard to believe Wyndham would even put their name behind it and have agents book folks there. If it wasn't for the fact that we had been traveling all day, it was 2 a.m., & we were too exhausted to wait for a cab or Uber back to the airport we would have hightailed it out of there & taken the loss.

We were lucky to have a weekend at this nice hotel in an over-priced neighborhood near the U of MD. Everything was just fine. We were hoping to book the rest of the weekends in Aug until Labor Day, but the hotel desk said they were closing--being raised for apartments being built on the site. That was the case of its sister Days Inn hotel and Red Roof hotel up the street. Too bad. There is not much affordable around the university.

Do not stay here. We booked the hotel for a 6 day stay for National History Day. Every time we called to make sure our reservation was made we were yelled at and told it wasn’t there. Then no one would answer the phone when our flight was delayed. Do not waste your money here. If you are a woman you will be treated like dirt.

This hotel is very dated. The furniture and carpets are very old and worn. It is supposed to be a smoke free hotel but the room reeked of smoke. Instead of a cozy chair to sit in like most hotels offer, there was 1 stained dining room chair. Stayed 2 nights for a college graduation but couldn't wait to leave this hotel. Definitely no more than a 2 star hotel at best. Would not stay here again.

Horrible experience! Loiterers were stalking me around the hotel. It was unsafe. The front desk refused to answer the phone for patrons. I would not stay here again. The fair thing to do would be to return my money, as it is a blessing I survived the stay at this hotel!!!

The Hotel Front End Staff was unwilling to extend my stay. I was unable to get back to my room by 11am. I asked to extend my stay for an additional day at full price. The Staff said that I had to get back to my room and check out at 11am and come back to check in at 3pm. This was extremely inconvenient and for that reason, I will never come back
