Residence Inn Columbus Easton

This hotel is located right in Easton Town Center which makes many shops and restaurants very walkable. There is plenty of complimentary parking at hotel. Right next door is a Trader Joe’s if you need groceries. Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator with a small kitchen area. Room was nice and comfortable. Heating/AC were not working properly. We had air on and living room was comfortable but bedroom became a freezer with air never shutting off in bedroom. It was evening so no maintenance was on call to fix and they were fully booked so could not move us. Front desk staff was very nice and came up to help, solution was take take thermostat down and shut everything off completely. By morning, room was very warm. There were also a few lights by doors of rooms that were flickering. Overall impression was a desperate need for maintenance. Great location nice room but need to have maintenance.

I would give this hotel a 3.5 for this trip if I could. I will first start out by saying this hotel is nice. I found it to be very clean and nicely decorated. The location is great and by many fun things and restaurants. The employees were very friendly as well. We usually frequent the Holiday Inn on E. Broad Street in Columbus and always have a good time. We love the pool, hot tub, and breakfast. I chose this hotel because I figured it would be even better than the E. Broad location. The top things I was looking for was a good breakfast, pool, and hot tub. Which is why I chose to stay with a Holiday Inn. None of the three things we were looking forward to were satisfactory. The hot tub was dismantled, the breakfast was cold, and my 9 year old wouldn't even swim in the pool because it ”looked bad.” It's fair to mention that she LOVES to swim so it was weird she wouldn't even step foot in the pool. The breakfast has always been phenomenal at Holiday Inn. We really enjoy the hot breakfast choices, so it was a big disappointment when the ”hot items” were cold. We ended up skipping breakfast the second day because it wasn't worth waking up early for. Also worth mentioning, though probably not the hotel's fault, the electricity went out three times in one night. We were trying to watch Stranger Things since there was nothing else to do at the hotel and we ended up giving up after it went out for the third time. Employees were apologetic, which I do appreciate. So basically we chose this hotel as a quick stay-cation after we had to cancel our camping trip to Michigan. (Thanks, gas prices!) We ended up spending almost the entire time just in the room watching TV, which is definitely not what we had planned for. I could have saved hundreds of dollars and did that at home. :) If the hot tub and pool had been operational and in good shape, we would have been perfectly pleased. Had this been the case, I would have given this hotel 5 stars. I really do appreciate the kind employees and the cleanliness, but this just wasn't worth the money this time.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Iiesha checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. She recognized us throughout our stay and was so friendly. Loved your shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. The room was so comfortable. The only thing we lopmissed was a microwave in the room. Can't wait to come back for another stay.

The hotel is definitely dated, could use some upgrades. It was fairly clean but not what I’d consider great. There were families and kids in the hall yelling and slamming doors until after 1am. Even with a noise machine it was very loud. Will not stay here again.

I'm writing this review on the second day of our stay (Labor Day), rather than waiting until after we check out tomorrow morning. At this point, I don't think there is anything they can do to improve my rating. My experience here has made the ONLY vacation I am able to have this year very disappointing. I based my choice on a hotel for my 3 day trip to Columbus on three things: 1. Convenient location to my planned activities (right between COSI & the Zoo and Aquarium). 2. That there is an open pool. 3. The ratings on this site. I will first address the positives (the only things keeping my reading from being 1 star), then I'll address the things that will concern all guests, and last I will address the things that impacted my specific criteria listed above. First: The front desk staff of all shifts were all friendly, helpful (to their capabilities), and personal. The front desk lady on 2nd shift of Sept 4th was concerned for my quality of experience and helpful with my requests. All of the first shift employees on Sept 5th (Labor Day) were friendly and helpful... Especially the gentleman cleaning up from breakfast, who assisted me in getting everything I needed despite the fact I overslept and came out to get breakfast at 8:50am. The breakfast options were great: waffles, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and juice. The food was delicious too. The 2nd shift lady at the front desk on Sept 5th was as helpful as she could be (explained below). I cannot speak for 3rd shift on Sept 5th because that hasn't happened yet but I am sure any potential experience will be positive, based on what has occurred so far. Every one of these employees deserve recognition from management and the company. Second: When I arrived, there was some sort of large party going on. The guests were so loud and rowdy that I could hardly hear the lady at the front desk as I was checking in and they could be heard all through the hallways. I understand that loud people are not the fault of the hotel and, thankfully, the room was the soundproof enough that it was nice and quiet. The room itself is in need of an update but the decor was nice, the beds were comfortable, and it smelled clean when we walked in. The clean smell is a bit of a deception though as it was only due to the deodorizer the spray in the room after house keeping us finished. I was happy with it at first but the longer we were in the room, the more I picked up on things that weren't right. To start it with, there were no washcloths with the hand towels and bath towels (which I suggest people bring their own because the hotel towels are child-sized, extremely thin, and rough). I asked a member of housekeeping for washcloths and was told ”We almost never have washcloths”. I asked a woman who appeared to be the housekeeping supervisor for washcloths and she walks down to laundry with me and managed to dig out two nice quality wash clothes from a large bin of freshly washed linens and towels.
