Yes, it is very worn and dated but it does have a retro 70's charm and provides very good value. Reception was polite and professional but could have been more supportive. We had a issue as our hotel booking site had not paid the hotel. The receptionist ask us to phone them to solve the issue. At better hotels, the reception would have offered to do provide this service. A lack of training? The location is excellent being in the centre of the city, across from the bus station and the transport museum. The views of the ruins of the old in the background and new in the foreground among other ancient and contemporary buildings is wonderful from the rooms at the rear of the hotel are wonderful. The balcony that some of the rooms to the rear have would be a very pleasant place to relax in good weather. The beds are very large and reasonably comfortable with clean beading. The carpet of our room was new, and others were being replaced as we were there. The state of the decor was adequate and past ready for a make-over. However, for the price and location, it was acceptable. The breakfast, which was included, was a pleasant surprise. The buffet breakfast room had a was cosy feel, there was a good selection of cereals, preserved fruits and yogurt. The full English breakfast was very well prepared and of good quality ingredients. The tea and coffee were also of a good standard. Service was professional and efficient, clearly aiming to provide their clients with a very pleasant start to their day.

Upon arrival I had major reservations about what I had booked. The photos on the booking site were nothing like what I was seeing. The car park was nealry rubble and the surrounding grounds were poorly kept. Reception was quite grand in appearance but that's the only good point this hotel has going for it. For the size of the place there is hardly any staff. The room I had booked wasn't available now so given another. Waking down the hallway I could see the carpet littered in stains, absolutely filthy Room was very dated and the furniture was a collection of random bits, our coffee table was missing a leg and was proped up by a chair. Some old 5 pin plug sockets by the beds for the lamps. Bar area was also tired in appearance although staff were very friendly. The whole place needs a major overhaul.

Room was clean and tidy, good value for the money. A good variety of TV channels and free WiFi, you can purchase films at £3.50 each but the selection could be bigger, and in this day and age I think £3.50 to watch a film is a but steep. Was surprise I had to pay for parking when I arrived at the hotel, a token should be given to guests for free parking. I could of driven straight out of the parking area as the barriers were not working, which the hotel knew about but still wanted me to pay the £6.50 for our overnight stay. Hotel reception, bar and restuarant was nice and modern but we only had one drink in the bar due to the prices, Pint of Heineken and half a coke was just under £8, so being just a 5 min walk into the town centre and 2 local pubs just a minutes walk away, we decided to eat out and drink out, saving ourselves a lot of cash. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but the prices for food were just too high for a hotel restuarant, and nothing on the limited menu that my 13 year old daughter liked. This is a large hotel, so I think it would be good for management to extend there food menu for family's and at reasonable prices, even if it's just the bar menu. Opposite the hotel there are numerous outlets, restaurants, take away pizza, kebabs etc. Hotel is in a great locations. If you like playing pool, there is a Rielys pool bar 100yards from the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes I would, staff were friendly, hotel was clean, had a good night sleep, bed was comfy, shower worked fine, large TV, great location, local shops outside, walking distance into town, my only issue really, was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel, to stay at the hotel, I personally don't think that's ok.

Really had high hopes at first glance this hotel has so much promise, being from Coventry originally I'm so glad this iconic building has been transformed and I will say it's been done well in parts however the reason for my star rating is the following. I'm on my second night of two and sadly had to move rooms. I had Room 27 first walk in was a huge Big Double you could easily use this as a family room it was that spacious, the downside and I would soon find out is this room is a connecting room and unfortunately I had very loud neighbours to which let's say I could hear everything. I'm also not the only person too mention this on their reviews. I had to complain about the noise during the night and again in the morning. Room 27 I sadly also found the bed far too soft and had around four hours sleep. Worth a mention that Room 27 over looks the courtyard and again I found that to be quite loud. I'm already feeling drained having travelled 1000's of miles to attend a family funeral. I'm now in Room 315 and what a let down. This is not a Big Double. It has the same lovely touches that go into detail of the hotels history however the room is so small. It's not a connection room and is a corner room which is one thing. I've tried to sleep and can't again the bed is not to a great standard honestly I find premier inn have better quality beds and if it wasn't booked I would of happily of gone there tonight. Upon check out I'm going to ask for a 50% refund and won't settle for less as having no sleep goes along way for anyone during any hotel stay. I would rate the breakfast as 3 / 5 i t was nice enough but nothing special. The staff are friendly enough but sadly with no sleep and some rooms not what you think your getting ie Room 315 is definitely not a Big Double I do feel sold out and I'm just disappointed and drained. Dreading my journey home tomorrow now with no sleep. I will add sense writing this as I booked through a third party and raised my complaints I was spoken too on the room phone by a Manager who had informed me my third party had spoken too them and wanted to know what my complaint was. Once I informed them of the noise and bed quality of both rooms ie the beds they snapped down the phone to me that this is a new hotel and the beds are new. They wouldn't be issuing a refund and basically my complaint was shot down. I have worked for over 25 years in the hotel trade even owning my own business of running successful hotels and bnbs. None of my staff would speak down to a customer in such a manner. They did end the call with see how I get on if I can sleep and speak to them in the morning however my mind is made up. This hotel is being run by monkeys who couldn't manage to peel a banana, let alone run what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star over all at best with no pool, the poor quality of beds,lacking an average breakfast, is not that of any four star hotel I have been at or run successfully. I booked a stay for one date then had to move the date due my one colleague being in the military and we eventually stayed for what we thought at the time was a pleasurable evening with this hotel on the 2nd September 2022. I felt I did call in plenty of time to move the first booking and just wanted to flag this up with them. They have now charged me for two stays and accused me of not moving the booking and not turning up. I earn a low salary due to my current job and there would be no way we would want to pay for two stays when we only wanted one night. They appear to not be concerned with my story and are refusing to refund the first booking As they have no proof it was moved on the phone by me. I did not receive an email confirming the move in dates and assumed all was well from the telephone conversation . Be aware this could and will happen to you if you need to change your room booking . They might charge you for two stays. I can barely afford this at present especially with rising prices in fuel costs. I will not be returning to this hotel group because they have ripped me off. What turned out as a smashing hotel stay has now turned into a really bad negative memory. It was not a corporate booking and every penny counts for me at this time and we are being treated as if the money means nothing , that we have been charged for two stays , for them appears normal. Even if it is wrong . Just to confirm we paid and stayed for the £205.12 Booking for one night , but were not at the hotel for the other fee they have charged which is £286 Again beware of these big hotel groups who are happy to take your money and if a mistake is made on their part, are very hard to get back a fee that they should not have taken .

The reception team are kind and friendly . Housekeeping needs to improve as I found a hair band that doesn’t belong to us under the bed .The cups could be have done with another washing. The heater was not safe to use as it fused and arched, but that was sorted out. Make sure that you type in your vehicle number as you will get a parking fine that is e we hat happen to me. The amen

Hotel was clean and nicely furnished, staff was friendly and attentive. Bed was very comfortable. Location is very convenient, next to the Coventry rail station and many bus connections, and also great for attending conferences at the University of Warwick when the on-campus venues are full. Being a new hotel, there were some expected growing pains. The thermostat often had issues regulating the room temperature (I would set it at 22~24C and the room would end up at 28~31C because the control system would not stop heating the room once it reached the right temperature, and I had to turn it down manually). The restaurant seemed a bit understaffed (it had to turn away guests when only half the tables were empty because it lacked the capacity to handle a full slate of guests).

Hotel location is good, but no Novotel is close to the airport. Novotel is walking at the door of the airport glass door for a minute. This hotel is to take the airport light rail for three minutes, then get off the train for ten minutes to walk through the exhibition hall. The exhibition hall is about five minutes walk. Remember that the hotel entrance is at the pizza shop. After entering the door, the elevator is on the second floor. It is the lobby, don't go wrong or circle. The breakfast is very suitable for the Chinese stomach, and the variety is very rich. I live here because I want to participate in the cake show every November. The picture is that it is convenient to go to the exhibition hall without going too far, otherwise the mobile phone is tired. Actually, it is also very tired, stop and go all the way. The hotel is actually a Shanghai-like Heshenghui, a big shopping mall. The hotel reception is in the corner of the second floor of the shopping mall. The guest room is inside the corner building built outside the main building. I feel that the floor of the guest room is built instead of cement, but the quality is very good. . There are not many stores in the mall, the British consumption is not high in the country, and there is a little bit of Colombia in the north. It feels high consumption. There are very few other shops. There is a coffee shop costa in the mall. You can buy a sandwich clerk to help you heat up. The huge sandwich is delicious. There is a specialty store in the Swiss Lotus chocolate, and it is more cost-effective to sell chocolate. Finally, the check-out of this hotel is not to check the room, the room card can go directly to the front desk.

We booked this hotel last minute after having to make changes to our trip to the NEC. Not fancying a glamping pod, we booked a room and were allocated the honeymoon suite. The hotel was very clean throughout and you could smell the cleaning products as soon as you walked in, indicating the cleaners had been in doing a thorough job. Staff were lovely and friendly and let us check in an hour early as the room was ready when we arrived at 2pm. Free parking is provided and I could see my car from the window of our room. The location is good and site was nice and quiet, despite having an events centre next door. There isn’t much within walking distance however there’s a bar and restaurant on site to cater for your needs. There’s also free wifi however our mobile signals were absolutely fine so we had no reason to make use of it on this occasion. Jacuzzi in the room was a nice touch and big enough to fit two people in. Was delighted to find out that a complimentary breakfast was included the following morning, and not too early either, starting at 9am. Sunday check out at 11am was ideal without us having to rush. As pleasant as the hotel is, it needs a fair bit of work. It’s very dated and tired looking. It’s creaky and old and is in need of a bit of a restoration, more than just a lick of paint here and there. The walls are paper thin, as I was lying in bed I could hear the person in the next room using the toilet - I won’t get graphic but let me just say I could hear everything as though I was in the room with them. One of the windows in our room wouldn’t shut at all, which wasn’t a massive issue as the weather wasn’t too bad, but during colder months this would’ve been impossible to sleep through. The old wooden frames were warped and you couldn’t even put it on the latch as the metal lever had snapped. There was no hot water for the shower so we were forced to take a cool shower. Not the end of the world but a bit inconvenient. My wife also pointed out that there was nowhere for her to get ready and do her makeup. The room is more than big enough to fit a dressing table in and this would’ve saved her sitting on the floor in front of the mirror to do her hair and makeup. It’s also pricey compared to local competitors. Breakfast was okay but lacking a few basics - no hash brown or black pudding. It would also benefit from a variety of options such as fresh fruit and yogurt. On the whole it was a nice experience but I’d only stay here again if I couldn’t get in anywhere else OR if it was modernised and updated throughout.
