A warm and welcoming hotel and restaurant. We were staying nearby and popped in for a glass of wine on our first night. Although the restaurant was fully booked the team kindly made us a cheese platter, eaten on the terrace with the vista of Loch Earn before us. We dined at the Achray hotel the following evening and had an excellent meal. The choice on the menu is limited, this is not ‘pub grub’ but a well curated menu of seasonal ingredients, cooked and presented beautifully. The Achray has an interesting wine list, if any of the wines are unfamiliar, Claire can recommend something to your taste. As we enjoyed our meal so much we booked their tasting menu for two days later. Again the food was high quality and although the restaurant was full the service was attentive and each course was explained to us. We chose to have the wine flight to accompany the meal and Claire surprised us at times with her pairings, however they all worked brilliantly. If you are in the Trossachs, it is well worth booking in advance travelling to this gem - you won’t be disappointed.
