Hotel Sueños del Inka

My wife and I stayed here with extended family and some friends before and after a 5 day trek in the Andes. This hotel is a gem. They take good care of you from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The hotel itself is a charming historic Spanish style building with a lot of character, but they have updated where it’s important (i.e. modern bathrooms). The staff treat you like family and by the time we left we felt like we were saying goodbye to friends. Jimmy and the hotel manager Rosa Maria are gracious, friendly and attentive. There is absolutely nothing “corporate” about this hotel. It is located minutes from Cusco’s central square and dozens of very good restaurants, cafes, etc. we felt truly relaxed and at home the entire time we were there.

This hotel in Cusco was centrally located and had everything we needed. The staff were so great and really looked after us. We had some early pick ups and late drop offs for tours and they kept the kitchen open late and they even had food delivered to our rooms as we were so exhausted. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable. There were quite a few stairs but the staff often helped with the bags. Breakfast buffet had great options and they also organised laundry efficiently for 12soles/kg. Lastly, when I left my earrings on the bedside table only to realise a day later, the cleaning staff kept them safe and I got them back with no trouble. I am so grateful for this! I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

I am a solo traveler and Rosa Maria and Jimmy made me feel at home. Rosa Maria was at the reception, the check in and check out process was smooth without any issues. I arrived very early before my room was ready and Rosa Maria made sure I was comfortable and offered me breakfast. Jimmy was very attentive always making sure I was okay with the altitude and giving me recommendations. Both were phenomenal, attentive and very caring. The hotel overall was perfect, no complaints. Absolutely loved this hotel! My husband and I went to Cusco for the first time after planning and dreaming for years. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff are just beyond wonderful people! I got sick the first couple of days and the staff was always asking and making sure I was feeling better. Location is just perfect! You're close to Plaza de Armas and can find all sorts of businesses within walking distance. The views you get from the hotel are like a dream. felt at home and definitely plan to come back and stay here again.

Hotel staff were INCREDIBLE! So friendly, accommodating and helpful. The hotel itself is a charming building, breakfast included, and centrally located. I can’t say enough good things about all of the helpful staff members! We highly recommend!

I loved staying at this hotel, which I almost consider more of a guesthouse, or “boutique hotel”, if you will. This is an 18th century, 4-5 story colonial home that has been converted into a hotel. It is full of charm and history. There are many rooms and many stairs connecting all the floors. You should be ready for that. Especially at high altitude, the stairs are no joke, but I didn’t mind because the place felt so cozy and quiet. The walls are very thick, so apart from a little traffic or celebration noise occasionally heard outside the hotel, it is very quiet. I slept well there. The bathrooms are fairly newly renovated and they are in the process of continuing to upgrade all the rooms. Everything is very clean. The views from at least one side of the hotel are fabulous. What really stands out are the staff. All the staff treat you like family and genuinely care about your wellbeing, from the tea they hand you to help adjust to the altitude when you first arrive, to helping you arrange anything you need, like tours, taxis, laundry, food, etc. They have a decent breakfast included with the room and lunch and dinner are available through their kitchen whenever you might need anything. The food was good and felt more nurturing rather than fancy, which was just what we needed when we were too tired to go out in Cusco to yet another restaurant. There’s a community feeling at breakfast, where you can see or meet other guests in various stages of having their own adventures in the area. We were there with several friends and family members. They stored our bags while we were on a trek and we stayed there before and after. It was a great feeling to come “home” to a known entity after a strenuous experience in the wilderness! I feel we established genuine bonds with the almost ever-present Jimmy, who does everything, and Rosa Maria, who manages the hotel for her family. I would love to see them again and will absolutely stay at this lovely place again should life bring me back to Cusco. Questions you may have: - Very centrally located and convenient to walk to most everything you would want to see in Cusco. - Heaters are free standing oil radiators in each room that do a good job. - Wi-fi is available throughout the hotel, but can be very slow in some of the rooms (back to the thick walls). - There is a safe in every room (I think) and some rooms even have a small refrigerator. - Very reasonable and affordable - good value! - Heads up! In Peru, the sewer pipes are very small in diameter, so you will need to put all waste tissue in the trash can, which will be emptied daily. If you like a more personal experience where you stay, you will love this place!

Hotel Sueños del Inka was an absolute gem in Cusco. Perfect location, excellent accommodations and Jimmy was the best. He and his team took great care of us. They helped with taxi’s, recommendations for restaurants and kept the rooms perfect. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the hotel if you are visiting Cusco.
