The Ship in Dock Inn

Good quality seafront pub B & B in ideal quiet location next to a park. Just a short walk to the shops, bars, restaurants etc. Around 30 mins walk to the Castle. Well equipped room with large ensuite. Very good English Breakfast. Friendly staff. Need to find parking on nearby roads or pay in public car parks. These were busy on a Saturday when we visited. Quite a narrow windy staircase to the bedrooms. Perhaps a bit pricy at £180 per night but we would definitely consider for a future visit to Dartmouth.

We spotted the add for take away Sunday Roast dinners delivered in Dartmouth. So we thought we would have a rest and try one. So glad we did it was absolutely fab. We ordered child portions as we are seniors and do not eat large meals, although I did add an extra, 1 portion of cauliflower cheese as not sure how small the meals may be. Wow. Delivered 5 mins early by a very friendly chap with card payment on delivery. What can I say we expected cartons of food, but no the meal was plated on disposable plate/dishes with lids. It was very hot with a piping hot pot of gravy. We chose Lamb and it was delicious, cooked just right and plenty of it. So much veg I lost count, at least 9 plus stuffing, big yorkshire and 2 large Roast potatoes. We didn't need the extra cauliflower cheese but it didn't go to waste and again hot and tasty. Child's portion just the right size for seniors, so full we could not even eat ice cream after Thank you all at the "Ship in Dock" you have now 2 new regular customers. And anybody out there thinking about it. Don't- just order and sit back. Will be ordering again soon.

Yet another lovely roast dinner.l normally have the Lamb but this time l had the beef and it was beautifully cooked and tender ,with a bottle of red wine what more could you want!! A great quirky pub with good staff, and friendly locals that has accommodation. Wonderful comfortable rooms, good shower, the breakfast was excellent good quality food, lovely service really made to feel welcome much better than a big hotel to stay at if in Dartmouth.

The Ship In Dock (SID) is perfectly located so visitors can enjoy all that Dartmouth has to offer with good options for parking. My room and bathroom were spacious, spotlessly clean and full of all those little items which make guests feel special. The room was elegantly decorated and full of charm. There is even a well stocked mini bar and REAL MILK for your tea or coffee. Downstairs you will find a comfortable and friendly bar that is well stocked with drinks to suit all tastes. The sumptuous freshly prepared breakfast is memorable. I could not manage any of the cereals, fruits and yoghurts on offer knowing I was going for the full traditional cooked breakfast, After consuming 2x fried eggs, 2 x sausages, 2 x rashers of bacon, mushrooms, black pudding, tomato, hash brown, baked beans, 2 x slices of toasts, washed down with a delightful pot of Earl Grey, I was set for the day. I highly recommend this totally wonderful and unique boutique pub with rooms. From the warm and friendly welcome to the time you check out, you will have a wonderful time with memories to treasure,

A really good place to stay in Dartmouth with a friendly owner and staff. A lovely bedroom with nice sheets, towels and the added benefit of a mini bar with fresh milk! Delicious breakfasts too. Highly recommend.

We didn’t stay here but we did have one of their Sunday Roasts … well what can I say absolutely FANTASTIC … choice of three meats and no less than 10 .. yes 10 .. different veg on the plate .. BEST ROAST EVER

We booked at the Ship because of the good reviews and was glad we did, the room was very tastefully decorated the place is spotless, the fry up was first class and when we visit Dartmouth again we will try to make sure we stay here again.

Always amazing friendly service, both in the bar and restaurant. They only do food Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and stop food early evening, which is why the previous reviewer couldn’t get served at 9.00pm when they hadn’t booked. There are only a small number of tables and the food is amazing so the tables get booked. Jude’s home made fish pie is full of large pieces of salmon, cod, haddock and king prawns and the steak pies are packed full tender pieces of steak. They are not on the main menu but the Specials. Their roast Sunday lunch either eat in, takeaway or delivery ( within a limited distance) has 11 vegetables. We had the beef with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Nice thick tender slices of beef. If they have spare tables, non residents can go in for a full English. breakfast. Again wonderfully cooked and will set you up for the day. The pub is small but very friendly and is open every day but some restricted hours as per their website. We have always had a very warm welcome and fantastic food.
