La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca

Overpriced and under delivered…Too pretentious. Great location but there are better options. The staff are actually very nice in the bar and restaurant… bur the quality of the food and beverages was not even close to the prices they charge. You can do So much better for this type of price. Sorry to say.

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you know that you have found some where special. On arrival there are drinks on the beautiful terrace over looking Deià and the Tramuntana mountains.Your luggage will already be in your room and you are ready to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. The pool area has been remodelled and the new loungers have a sophisticated Mediterranean vibe. Lunch at the pool restaurant offers a new menu with lighter options to appeal to everyone. Cafe Miro and El Olivo also have new menus and each and everyone offers excellent customer service and a delightful ambiance. The gardens are beautiful and the housekeeping probably the best we have experienced. The concierge team are essential to help you with restaurant bookings , taxis and other excursions. It’s important to book in advance of your stay so that you are not disappointed. The hotel itself offers many activities but do visit The Poets Walk and try some of the new daily activities such as the olive oil and cava master classes, vermouth tasting and mindful meditation. The management team and staff led by Thomas Moons are very visible and will ensure that you have a truly wonderful stay.

The staff here really make the difference between an excellent hotel and an outstanding hotel. The restaurant staff in the Miró restaurant were exceptional - Charleen was our waitress most evenings and her recommendations were most welcome! Receptionists and the front office assistant manager, Luis, ensured our stay was an unforgettable one! Thank you for the memories! We will be back next year!

Since the Covid pandemic curtailed our travels we have concentrated our attention on Europe and the unique collection provided by our favourite hotel group BELMOND. We completed our journey of all the Italian hotels and those close by in Madeira and Mallorca. It is fair to say we would never have visited several locations had there not been a Belmond hotel there. This is particularly true of La Residencia as we visited north west Mallorca over twenty years ago and never thought we would return. My goodness it is worth a return trip for so many reasons. Gardens…….exceptional as with all Belmonds. Staff……….exceptional as with all Belmonds Accommodation……..exceptional as with all Belmonds. Cuisine……. exceptional as with all Belmonds. Experiences….exceptional as with all Belmonds. If you know the Americans you know what they want and this is it. I asked if Mallorca is popular with the U.S. market and was told it not except La Residencia. The majority of guests were from the U.S. and were the most well travelled and gracious people we could hope to meet. Our fellow Europeans were the same. What a marvellous experience it’s been. Where next? We’ve never been on The Orient Express! Comparing notes with fellow travellers is interesting and comparing hotel favourites. We’ve been to Amans, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and all the rest and our friends across the pond don’t understand why Belmond have no loyalty programme. We had never been fans(M.O. pun notintended until achieving Gold membership of BA . There’s something rather special about being acknowledged and rewarded for your custom. Belmond should perhaps acknowledge loyalty and it shouldn’t be necessary to explain how many hotels and journeys you’ve enjoyed with them. In Portugal Six Senses Douro recognised we’d been to the Lamuu resort in the Maldives a few years ago and the reward was amazing. I suspect that as Mon.Arnault becomes more interested in Belmond the aficionados will become as cherished as the Louis Vuitton luggage of yesteryear. A new golden age of travel ?

Everything about our stay at LR was a dream. From the incredible service, to the delicious food we ate, everything was top notch. The setting of this hotel is unlike anything my husband and I have seen. The town of Deia and the surrounding mountains are like something out of a fairytale. Highly recommend a reservation at El Olivo, one of the best meals we ate during our 10 day stay on Mallorca. The breakfast spread every day was also incredible and the staff was very accommodating if you wanted something specific. Our room was great and very spacious, though the bathroom was a bit small. We stayed in room 21 which I believe is a junior suite, just above the main lobby building. It was very convenient to stay in this building as the restaurants and pool were a short walk away and we appreciated not having to hike up and down all those stairs to the other buildings. However, if you stay in the main building know that it will be a bit noisy through some of the night since you're just above the main area of the hotel.

La Residencia is a joyful, authentic and wonderful host for my wellness retreats. The staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble. The location is spectacular and the overall experience is rejuvenating, nurturing and replenishing for the body, mind and soul. La Residencia prides itself on being nothing short of extraordinary. Extraordinary it certainly is!! A huge thank you to the whole team. I look forward to returning with more guests in 2024

Amazing hotel where you feel you have arrived at a country manor house owned by a good friend, rather than a commercial hotel operation. Position in the town of Deia means you can get out to lots of bars and restaurants to try out different foods without having to taxi/drive. Nice few shops and good bus service to other villages with main stop just outside the hotel.

The title on my review says it all!! We had the best time staying at the property, everybody from the property try to engage with the guest to make them even more comfortable during there stay. The entire property is beautiful, restaurants are fantastic, food is excellent, servers are great. The manger keeps a track of each guest to make there stay magical. we were more than happy staying with them.
