I stayed for four nights with my teenage daughter on a mother-daughter trip. Got a great rate booking a few months in advance, and I am so impressed with the value received for the price. We were given a room with two beds on the top floor facing the courtyard- it was quiet and comfortable. I brought earplugs after reading some reviews about noise, but we didn’t need them. The bathroom was updated and the shower was great- hot and nice pressure. The beds were a little “creaky” but comfortable, and the linens were cozy. The hotel staff were helpful, the restaurant was good for breakfast (although we chose to eat elsewhere most mornings) and Darkey Kelly’s pub on the first floor had great food and music. The location is fantastic- we were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. I really can’t find a single fault with this hotel for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Marlin Hotel Stephens Green

In my opinion the Marlin hotel is more like a very fancy hostel than a traditional four star hotel. That comes as a bit of a surprise if you are not expecting it! On the plus side it’s very clean, very unique style, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The cons are that the king rooms are just too small for two people. Travellers with a lot of luggage will struggle. The breakfast was average for the price. The dining option is bar food only. The high price tag is for the excellent location, not the accommodation. We did really enjoy our stay but would consider other options with more spacious rooms for our next stay in Dublin City centre.
Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin

Location was fantastic. Hotel was very clean, comfortable and modern. Staff friendly and engaging. Was going away for a one night break to Dublin from 2 small kids and we were hoping for a restful night. However, a noisy fan in the bathroom prevented that. It sounded like someone was vacuuming the room all night. The reception sent a very nice person to the room, but couldn't fix the issue, he also agreed that the noise was very loud but that maintenance were unavailable until the morning. It was very disappointing for us and we left the hotel more tired than when we arrived. When you pay hard earned money and look forward to your break, I feel compelled to highlight this issue as it was the opposite of what we hoped for from our break.

We spent three nights at this hotel. The location is amazing. Grafton Street is on the doorstep, and there are loads of nice bars and restaurants in easy reach. Temple Bar is 15-20 mins walk. We caught a No. 16 bus from the Airport which drops you less than 5 mins away. The hotel is very nicely decorated. Our room was a good size with lots of power points and a decent bathroom. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, although the pods were not Nespresso branded and the coffee was really poor. The lift seemed to take ages to arrive. If you are able to use the stairs, I would recommend doing so. Using the stairs also means you will see more of the funky artwork. We visited the hotel bar for cocktails on one of the evenings and the cocktails were very nice, although the bar tender's English was not great and he did struggle to understand the orders. He was very polite, though, and the cocktails were tasty. The hotel was a little more expensive that I would usually go for, but the central location made the price worth it. Dublin is an expensive city for hotels.

I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I would say the hotel's two biggest strengths are its location and the friendliness of its staff. Everyone, from the people at the front desk, to the servers in the attached pub, to the cleaning lady on my floor, were all very friendly. My room was clean and it had a nice spacious bathroom/tub. The hotel felt very safe with an extra key pad for security to get to the elevator to the rooms. My only small small suggestion for improvement is that the carpet in my room was looking a bit old and dingy and could be replaced soon. But again--I had a really lovely stay here and I would definitely consider this hotel again next time I'm in Dublin.
