The hotel is very nice, the environment is very elegant and the facilities are very good. The restaurant waiter was very welcoming and the dishes were quite delicious. It is a pity that there is no breakfast, but the place to shop nearby is not far away.

There aren't too many breakfast choices, but the taste is OK. It is very convenient to go to Duke University. The surrounding environment is very good. The two beds are very large and comfortable. There is free parking.

Hard to believe this is actually a Quality Inn having stayed in plenty before. The whole place is very run down and dated to the point where it just feels dirty. The room had a no smoking sign however it REEKED of smoke- there’s actually a burnt cigarette under the bed (along with a condom). There’s burn holes all over the floor and part of the bathroom trash can was burnt/melted. The smoke detector was off/gone. Our heating/ac unit did not work- you get 85° F or nothing- plus half of the buttons were gone. The tub looked gross and I’m not quite sure what was growing around the knob (mold?). We were also left with a half roll of toilet paper with (what I can only assume was) poop smudged down the side. The floor doesn’t seem like it was vacuumed. Who knows about the bed sheets, although the bed was fairly comfy (a potential positive if laying your head on the pillow didn’t smell like you were laying in an ash tray), the sheets didn’t have stains or random hairs so I’m trying to be optimistic there. The headboard had random stains, smudges and smears, and the pipes under the sink are leaking and going right into the carpet. The mirrors and windows all have kiss marks and smudges on them as well. Yuck.

Very annoyed at lack of internal stairs and very slow elevator. Had to wait 2+ minutes sometimes for elevator when I could have made a trip by stairs in 20 seconds. Gym was overcrowded in the morning; too small for such a costly facility. The fact that the breakfast had waitstaff, and the accompanying expectation of tipping, was very offputting. Breakfast quality was generally good, however. Although they should either provide enough bananas that everyone can get one or not at all; putting out just a couple of bananas but dozens of apples seems a bit asinine. Hotel was completely unable to furnish a single stamp, regardless of my offer to pay. Shuttle service was excellent, though they should let you know if you're going to be the last one and have to wait 30+ minutes to be dropped off.
