Excellent food and service. Can't rate this place enough. The staff cannot do enough for you. The food is just perfect to taste and well presented. The whole ambience and how you are made to feel is second to none. We arrived with cake and balloon of which the team placed on our table before mum arrived.

Attended the Christmas wreath making evening with a friend. It’s many years since I last visited. The hotel and restaurant were a much loved venue for my now ex partner and I and I was looking forward to seeing the hotel again. I wasn’t expecting too much of our evening believing it would be one of the Christmas events where mass catering is generally provided and usually mediocre at best. I was quickly divested of this perception. A warm welcome on arrival to a stunningly decorated entrance and general area. Staff greeting us and making sure we had a drink whilst we waited. Our meal served once settled into our large room was superb and a big plus for me as a very fussy diner was warm plates! Our Christmas meal was served quickly, delicious generous hot portions turkey, al dente veg and trimmings to go. A dessert that went down beautifully and I noticed particularly many plates going back to the kitchen empty! AND hot rich fragrant coffee,! Our evening then of wreath making was chaotic, noisy with plant debris everywhere but after an hour, with guidance, many beautiful wreaths produced with us all sharing our attempts on cameras with smiles. Throughout the evening I was able to see the staff and their courtesy, attentiveness and patience as well as helpfulness and this reinforced my love of this beautiful hotel and restaurant and my memories of previous happy visits. It’s so nice to see in today’s competitive market a venue that works hard to give guests a very enjoyable visit and I can’t wait to come after Christmas to enjoy a meal with friends. Where do I even begin to thank Whitley Hall for making mine & my husbands wedding day so special. We booked this venue 2 years in advance, Rebecca the manager was lovely showing us around. Making us a coffee & took her time to answer any questions we had. The communication was spot on from start to finish. If we had any questions we just emailed & always got a quick response from someone in the team. We used the onsite styling team Forever Yours, Sarah was amazing helping us choose our decorations & showing us how things would look. We also used the onsite flower team, Jane was a superstar the flower arrangements were beautiful. I asked for an example of flower bouquet & she did it no problem for us.On the day we got Amanda as our wedding coordinator, Amanda thank you so much you went above & beyond to make every moment of our day perfect. Amanda was on the ball from meeting me onsite the night before making sure I was ok or any questions I may have. On the morning Amanda was there to make sure everything was right that she had down & to talk me over what’s going to happen. Through out the night Amanda was there making sure everything was going perfectly, she was incredible. Our wedding day would not of been so perfect without her, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. Chelsea & Chris.

I treated a dear friend to an afternoon tea at the Whitley for her birthday. A fantastic selection of sweet and savoury bites to suit everyone's taste. The staff were very pleasant. Overall, great value for money. I look forward to returning to sample the tasting menu.

We attended a wedding at Whitley Hall. Such a fantastic venue, what a beautiful wedding reception room and amazing food. We had the best welcome and our room was so special and definately did not disappoint. The staff could not do enough for us. I would definaltey recommend them for an event, special meal or overnight stay. The setting is so private and beautiful, what a treasure, hidden away in Sheffield! Stayed here for 2 nights for my granddaughters wedding 2nd /3rd April venue food and staff excellent hotel very clean grounds lovely we hired the whole hotel and we were looked after great by everyone thanks to everyone for making our special day extra special

Beautiful food and service. Staff lovely and attentive. Always checking in that everything is OK. Lovely warm atmosphere. Had the lets do lunch menu good value for money. 3 course meal. Good choice on the menu. Beautiful tasty food. Will definitely book again

We were there for my nephew's wedding. When we arrived for a 12.30 seating at 11.30, there was no bar open and almost nothing prepared, almost as if we were an inconvenience !!! The set up was small to say the least, the seating was so close together that the person at the side of you had to lean forward to be able to sit side by side !!!!! The evening went well, although i would say that the food was a little on the sp**** side. Breakfast was another matter !!!!! We were instructed to be down for breakfast between 9.00 and 9.30, we were down for 9.20, had our cereals and a cup of tea, went up for our cooked breakfast only to be told that there was no bacon left, after much of an ado we were informed that we were too late and the chef had gone, no bacon available, the guy had no idea about customer service !!!!!!! I must say that this is the first negative review i have ever written but feel so upset about the treatment that my wife and i have been subject to has pushed me into penning this review. Apologies for the rant !!!

Excellent surroundings, wonderful food and service. The grounds to the hotel are great with a good display of Spring flowers. The open fire was warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly and curtias. The food selection was just right for a lunch menue and was of the highest standard.
