Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. It's also very convenient for travel to Glasgow, as it's close to the central train station and long-distance bus terminal. The breakfast is delicious, the staff are warm and polite, and the rooms are very clean. There are also many high-quality Scottish and Italian restaurants nearby.

The hotel is located in the city center, just a few minutes' walk from the train station, and backs onto Calton Hill. It's also within walking distance of landmarks like Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, making its location excellent. There's a mall and plenty of restaurants right next door. However, the hotel facilities are dated, the room is small, and there are few power outlets. In the twin room, the two small beds are pushed together, and one side of the headboard has no outlets, which is inconvenient for charging at night. Check-in isn't until 3 PM, but luggage storage is available.

Booked a city view room on Trip.com, but got an inner-facing room with no view. However, the Chinese lady at the front desk was excellent! She patiently explained everything, tried her best to coordinate a change, and even enthusiastically recommended local attractions and restaurants. Even though the room couldn't be changed after all 🤣, the service was outstanding. The bar and restaurant staff were also very friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious 👍

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic – almost all the attractions are within walking distance. It's right at the foot of Calton Hill, and with daylight saving time, it stays light late, so it's super convenient to watch the sunset, head back to the hotel to rest, and then go out again to see it.

The location is fantastic! Princes Street is right around the corner if you turn right, and Calton Hill steps are just a short walk to the left. The front desk upgraded our room, which had a huge bed and was very clean. Breakfast is ordered to-go and can take a while, so if you're in a hurry, go early. There's a Chinese restaurant to the right when you exit that's pretty good, but it's often packed with tour groups, so it's best to book in advance.
