"Good location, center of Edinburgh, just 10 min walk to Edinburgh castle. Great natural light and blinds for the night. However, the doors were really loud, no matter how hard I tried the doors keep making huge noise when I close or open it. The room I stayed were bad at sound proof, loud chatter sound could be heard from inside when people pass by in the morning, ear plugs are recommended if you are staying there and are sensitive to noise. Overall it’s still worth the price"

However, the shuttle bus *to* the airport costs 2.5 pounds per person and makes several stops, so a short distance takes over 10 minutes."

If you don't want to walk, you'll need to take a taxi, which adds to the cost. Staying closer to Princes Street would be more convenient."

"Absolutely terrible, avoid at all costs! First off, the 5000-unit room was incredibly small. And even though we were willing to pay for an upgrade, they provided absolutely no service. This brings me to the staff, specifically two Asian gentlemen. One older man was at the front desk handling check-ins, and a younger one with glasses and a buzz cut was working at the entrance. The old man at the front desk was completely unhelpful; he wouldn't answer questions properly and just talked in circles, constantly chatting with his colleagues in between. His attitude was appalling. The other Asian guy looked quite honest. My friend and I were heading to the elevator, and in a five-star hotel, you'd expect the staff to wait for guests to enter first, or at least hold the door for you. But no, we were almost at the elevator when he just walked in without even pressing the 'open door' button. I had to rush over and stick my hand in to stop the door from closing! This hotel is unbelievably awful, the worst five-star hotel, and definitely the worst W I've ever stayed at."

"Great location—about a 10-minute walk from the train station, and just a minute or two away from a commercial street with plenty of dining and shopping options. The 4-bed female dorm offers plenty of personal space with room for luggage, and you can lock your suitcase under the bed if you bring a padlock. The bathroom is also spacious and very clean, fully stocked with toiletries. The only downside is that the female dorm is on the fourth floor and there's no elevator in the building, which makes it quite inconvenient if you have heavy luggage."
