Destiny Student - Holyrood (Brae House) ★★★★
"The room was clean and the facilities were fairly complete, though a bit small. It would be perfectly fine as student accommodation. However, as a commercial rental, the price is quite steep; at around 1200 including tax, the value for money isn't great. Because it's dormitory-style with area doors (each area having five or six rooms) and shared kitchen doors, the sound insulation is poor, so it can get quite noisy. There's often a chorus of loud doors opening and closing, as well as hairdryer noise. The train tracks are right across the street, but it wasn't noisy at night, perhaps due to infrequent service."
St Christopher's Edinburgh Original ★★★
"First time staying in a hostel with triple bunk beds. The old guy on the bottom bunk never stopped talking, then immediately started snoring after his call. In the middle of the night, he'd wake up to eat after snoring."
Destiny Student – Murano (Campus Accommodation) ★★★★
"Its nice that this was affordable for a quick trip up. The staff were really nice and polite, always helpful when needed and go above and beyond. I would recommend them i hope i can return next summer if I can"
Destiny - Burnet Point
"Good value and clean. I would say the walls are awfully thin so expect to be able to hear the goings on of you neighbours."
Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh ★★★
"Friendly staff, clean room. However, there was no drinking water in the room. When asked was told they have run out of water bottles and to drink water from the wash basin tap. Given it was late night couldn't source it from outside. Later staff managed to get 2 glasses of water from the restaurant."
St Christopher's Edinburgh Old Town ★★
"Amazing hostel, clean and tidy and bedding is very comfortable, much appreciated, nice staffs also"
Code Pod – the Court - Edinburgh ★★★★
"I visited at the end of March, and Edinburgh was still quite cold, especially with the strong winds. The hostel's location is excellent, right by the church on the Royal Mile, making it easy to walk to all the other famous attractions. The room was very clean, and even though I booked a mixed dorm, I was kindly placed in an all-female room. The bed was clean, with a USB charging port, a privacy curtain, a lockable locker, and a shoe cabinet. The communal bathrooms and toilets were spacious, with each shower stall having a separate wet and dry area, plus a hairdryer. I highly recommend having breakfast at the hostel; the waffle I ordered was huge, and guests get a discount. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!"
Travelodge Edinburgh Haymarket ★★★
"The room was not properly clean when we arrived; there were hairs in the bathtub and dust on the surfaces. The room was not cleaned on any day during our stay. We arrived on a Wednesday and, even after informing them that we needed the trash to be emptied, they didn’t do it until Saturday, and they gave us towels with an unpleasant smell. I asked for toilet paper and the reception staff gave me no explanation; I had to buy it at the supermarket. It’s shameful — this is not an apartment or an aparthotel, and they don’t provide any cleaning tools either. The floor is extremely noisy. Breakfast is far too basic. There is no wardrobe in the room. The mattress on the large bed was very sunken in the middle. It’s a very basic hotel just for sleeping, but with absolutely no room cleaning, which becomes extremely uncomfortable if you stay for several days.I chose the room in advance and paid an extra fee, basing my decision only on the size, the floor and the location. The room was spacious, but it didn’t make up for the complete lack of cleanliness. The renovation of the rooms is very basic; it’s not a real refurbishment, just a superficial ‘makeover’: wallpaper on the walls (slightly peeling in some areas), doors painted white, and not much else.."
Garner Hotel Edinburgh - Haymarket ★★★
"We like this hotel."

Five-star luxury hotel (Marriott) featuring the One Spa, an indoor pool, a rooftop hydropool, a restaurant, a bar, stunning castle views, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The Glasshouse, Autograph Collection
"The shower equipment in the room seemed to be designed for disabled people, with no glass and no shower curtain; there was also a red pull ring for alarm. How did Ctrip communicate and translate this?"
Apex Grassmarket Hotel
Ideally located in the heart of the historic Grassmarket, this hotel is within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, Greyfriars Kirkyard, Princes Street, and major cultural sites. Perfect for travelers exploring Edinburgh’s iconic landmarks.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Edinburgh
"The breakfast was incredibly rich, with a wide variety of drinks, bread, sausages, bacon, cereals, and fruits – definitely filling. The location is a tiny bit out of the way, but we took the local train to the city center every day. It's a convenient 12-minute ride from Haymarket Station to Waverley Station. The room was spacious, though the facilities were a little dated. Overall, it was a good stay."
DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh Airport
"I absolutely adore this place! They offer a convenient airport shuttle every ten minutes, which is a huge plus. I also really enjoy their sauna and steam room. And to top it off, they generously provide a delicious chocolate cookie. However, keep in mind that this hotel is far from the city center, and the bus to the city center is quite expensive. So, I would recommend this hotel to those who are only staying for a layover."
The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton
"The location of the hotel is great, the rooms are quite satisfactory, and the service is pretty good"
Village Hotel Edinburgh
"The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was super comfortable. There's a spacious car park right outside the hotel, making parking incredibly convenient. The hotel is located a 10-minute drive from Edinburgh's historic Old Town. It also features a bar where you can catch a game, enjoy a beer, and grab a meal – a really handy amenity. Breakfast was pretty standard, and the variety wasn't very extensive. The only minor downside was the price, which was a bit steep, but then again, accommodation in Edinburgh isn't cheap."
Radisson Blu Hotel Edinburgh City Centre
"Perfect stay."
Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
"For over 3,000, you'd expect a lot more than a standard domestic hotel's level of service and quality. The hotel only has one elevator for ten floors, so waiting for it every time we left or returned felt like an eternity. What really got to me was how terrible the Wi-Fi was – it would connect but not load any pages, making even WeChat chats impossible. We were on the second floor, and even our own mobile data had no signal, leaving us completely disconnected inside the hotel."
Norton House Hotel & Spa
An award-winning spa featuring an indoor pool, a hydrotherapy pool, a sauna, a steam room, a fully equipped gym, and treatment rooms. Perfect for rejuvenation, stress relief, and wellness getaways.
