Inch of dust under beds to point you couldn’t see the carpet pattern. Only 2 coffee pods provided for 3 nights of stay with 4 people in the room. Called housekeeping for more and they promised to bring them but never did. When trying to get more we went to the front desk but it was left unmanned so long we gave up. Asked for the room to be serviced after our second night and instead they just left us more towels on a chair. Didn’t take old towels. Didn’t make bed. Didn’t empty overflowing trash. Didn’t vacuum when it clearly needed it. Restaurants were overpriced and the food was bad. We had a huge anniversary party (13 people) that ate together 5 times at the various hotel restaurants and were never given more than one waiter. I must say they wowed me with just how bad a hotel can execute. I would have left after first night but it would have been rude to the couple celebrating their anniversary so we held our nose and put on a good face for them.

The worst hotel experience of my life. After 2 days we packed up and left. $325 a night, on the 4th floor in the main building gets you a closet not fit for a college dorm room, and a broken down portable AC unit (see photos). I looked in other rooms and saw the same AC units in the same condition. This is a 2 star hotel charging 5 star prices. The service is terrible. The young people working there are angry and rude. The management is inept. The building itself is beautiful. Stay somewhere else and take the day tour of the hotel.

Way overpriced for the poor service we received. the main rest room in the lobby was very dirty, Are hotel room was alright. overpriced compared to other hotels that we have been to in the past. We have saved in nicer ocean front hotels for less money.

Very disappointing experience at the original Stanley Hotel for the money. It is a historical hotel, and you know that ahead of time. But the experience leaves one disappointed, from distant parking with some spots in a dirt lot (and a single luggage drop location at the basement level) to a single elevator original to the 1909 construction and no air conditioning, the logistics of arriving, registering and the comfort of a stay are poor. Our stay was topped off with a loss of water for 3 hours one afternoon interrupting our plans. I think you are better served finding another option at literally half the cost. Probably worth it for a visit and tour without staying to cross it off your list.

After having dinner and going to the Magic Show at the Stanley, the battery on our room door was dead at 9:45 pm, we were locked out! My husband needed his heart medication. No one was on site to open door. He could have thrown a clot and died. When help showed up nearly 3 hours later, he had the wrong tools and had to leave to get the right ones, came back and had the wrong battery, had to leave again. We are repeat customers for 16 years. This time we stayed 3 nights; management refused to comp that night's room. A hotel of this size should have personal on site and someone who is competent. No one seemed to understand or care about the severity of the medical situation. It was clear they do not care if we ever return. Which we won't!

We took a walk through the hotel in the afternoon. It was beautiful and enchanting. It is $10 to park but you get a great coin worth $5 to spend there. I kept it as it is very cool. We returned in the evening for drinks and charcuterie at the bar and then went on the evening ghost tour. We really enjoyed it. We learned some history of the hotel and it was a beautiful night to walk the grounds and explore out of the way places.

My partner and I were so excited to stay here but we were seriously let down. For the price we paid, I was expecting luxury amenities and a sizeable room. What we got was a room smaller than anything you'd get in any chain hotel (we couldn't even open our suitcases on the floor), a shabby, cheap looking bathroom with the shower head not properly attached to the wall. There wasn't even housekeeping - you can't request for your room to be made up, only for fresh towels or for the bin to be emptied. They do give $25 vouchers for breakfast (which isn't even run by the hotel, from what I can tell) however the wait at 10.40 on a Monday morning was 30-40 minutes and we decided we'd be better off going elsewhere. I feel like I've been scammed and I'm incredibly angry. It sounds like the hotel used to be fantastic but has really let things slide, probably in the name of profit. Don't stay here.

We stayed at this hotel for the experience of the Stanley Hotel. There are cheaper and just as nice hotels in the area.I reserved a room at the hotels a couple of months ago which you pay upfront. Also there is a $100 deposit at check as for some people may get a surprise at check Anyway,we thought we were going to get a room at the main hotel but to our surprise they put us in a hotel outside of the area .How disappointing and upset we were. For the same price mind you.I would never stay here again or would I recommend it to anyone else.We were excited then not.Shame on you Stanley.
