We stayed in the Cobbett Lodge which includes the sauna and hot tub inside the lodge. I couldn’t fault it. When we arrived we got there when reception was closed but they had a board out the front with our name on and what lodge number. Also had a map for you to see where the lodge was. I thought we were going to get there before 6pm but due to traffic and needing to get food on the way we arrived after. When I called reception to let them know the girl was really friendly and helpful. Other than that we didn’t need the staff over the weekend which actually was really nice as everyone is left to it. The lodges are separate from another which also gives you plenty of privacy. The heating system was perfect, I’m sure it was under floor heating too and it warmed up the lodge very quickly. All the utensils, plates etc were clean when we arrived. The lodge does provide a dishwasher and a washing machine but take your own tablets/detergent if you wish to use these. The cooker and hob were also very self explanatory and easy to use. The sauna and hot tub were bliss! The instructions to the sauna were very easy to follow and we spent a lot of time relaxing in there. Same for the hot tub- it was clean, and warm. There is a sign on the outside which says maintenance come and check it twice a day and they rang the doorbell which we heard a couple of times but it’s so quiet you barely hear it so doesn’t disturb you at all. We took our own towels for the hot tub as only two towels provided for the shower/bath. Few things I noticed which I would take with me when we return are toilet rolls (they do provide one) and bin bags (they do have one in the bin already so depends on how much rubbish you have). We just forgot to take them with us. Location- I googled a load of walks we could do and also the lodge website has some great walks as well so definitely easy to find a trail. We didn’t go on any due to it raining and didn’t have any wellies. Of course the sun popped out the day of us leaving! We will definitely be back again and stay at the same lodge. We had a great, relaxing weekend.

The welcome on arrival was excellent, staff extremely helpful. Everything in the lodge worked, however luxury the lodge wasn’t, the oven was dirty, the kitchen worn and we have stayed in a few luxury lodges over the last few years and this was definitely the worst equipped kitchen. No coffee maker or cafetière. I had read other reviews so we packed all the items we knew would not be there. Just when so much is charged you expect a place to be of the same quality as other locations. Location for walks is excellent

We arrived first weekend in December and straight away thought what a lovely location. Our log cabin accommodation was of a very high standard and we were overlooking the little lake . Even though the temperature outside was freezing the lodge was always warm and cosy . The lodge was very clean and fully equipped . The beds were so comfy and it was so peaceful of a night . The Duke of Cambridge pub is literally a 30 seconds walk over a small bridge so you don’t have to leave the retreat . Nice pub and the food is lovely and well priced . Overall if you like a quiet break in a lovely location with top class accommodation I would wholly recommend one hundred percent . Will stay again in near future .

This is our 3rd trip and I have to say that the purse strings seem to have been pulled in as the usual touches like bath robes, bathroom toiletries and the little welcome pack have all gone...its quite expensive to stay here so taking these things away dilutes the experience to an average stay...

Tilford woods is a beautiful retreat. Walks galore locally. Pub close by has excellent food . Lodge was immaculate no problems at all. Would return again. Dog loved all her walks. Devil's punchball is a must.. .

We booked here and stayed in Sturt lodges, a dog friendly 4 berth lodge. The arrival was fine, no offer of being shown to the lodge but it was easy enough to find with keys inside waiting for us. We’ve stayed at many lodge sites before and also own our own lodge in Cornwall so have lots to compare it to. Firstly, toilet roll is a joke. There was 1 roll provided with the expectation you go and buy more yourself. This is nothing to do with being more sustainable, it’s clearly a ploy to force purchasing from the on-site shop. This is not acceptable, and I would have been more inclined to understand if the site actually openly promoted recycling to start with! Having a ‘if you want to recycle you can’ policy is not good enough in 2023. We therefore had to go shopping on day 2 for more toilet roll! The lodge itself was lovely, bed was comfy and towels aplenty. It was clean enough, however was clearly a rush job as the oven wasn’t clean, windows were all dirty and decking not swept. Fairly minor things, but I expect better. There is a tea towel, sponge and a small amount of washing up liquid provided but nothing else. You have to bring your own salt/pepper/oil/disinfectant etc. Again- I have no issue with this, but it’s very annoying to only know about this when you have arrived. We really didn’t want to have to go shopping…we could have brought stuff from home if we had known. I’ve never been to a lodge stay and not had the very basics. The site itself is lovely, the duck pond is lovely to watch and the walks straight out on to Hankley Common were wonderful for our relaxed weekend with the dogs. We would come back again purely for location, but communication could be so much better to make the stay more enjoyable without the initial annoyance experienced. Toilet roll gate is one that really got my back up!

In what I think was1963, mum and dad borrowed a military tent, it was tiny and had camouflage paint on it. My uncle an ex para owned it. Dad took us to a field beside a golf course at Tilford, Surrey . They were so ashamed of it, that they hid us amongst bushes out of sight. The summer was skorching hot. Mum and dad enjoyed so much, that they went to London and bought their first big ridge tent. It was just a field with tents. I've not been back since then. I'm here now but can't stay. This is what I discovered. It's beautiful and we will come back to stay. We drove down from The Cotswolds to reminisce. We found the property and asked reception if we could walk round. After telling them my story. They agreed. It is now and apparently has had lodges sited there some 20 years. They are WOW lodges. I've got to go back one of these days when I can afford it, even if it's only for a couple of days.

Another item checked off my bucket list. My partner and I have always wanted to stay in a log cabin and if we are completely honest, we didn’t know what to expect. When we got to the site we parked in the golf club as we couldn’t find the lodge. We asked someone who worked there and was really rube and just kept pointing across the road. And it was. Just across the road. Sometimes I can be so silly. We got there early and was advised to come back at half 2 and the lodge should be clean, so we went to the lovely little pub next door and had a slap up meal. The lodge was very clean and had everything you could of needed. Slept very well and the shower was nice and powerful. I stayed with my partner and two of our friends with their dogs, it was cozy but none of us felt that we were on top of each other. They also had a iPod music player but unfortunately it didn’t connect to my phone. During the days we went for walks and I highly recommend the Devils Punch Bowel, lots of stunning views. In the evening we played board games and ordered takeout and I was surprised that they deliver to your own lodge. Had a wonderful stay and will like to come back again during the Xmas period. Thank you for having us :)

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. The three bedroom lodge was very clean with modern kitchen and bathrooms The ducks were the stars if the show for our eighteen month old grandchild. We appreciated the high standard of equipment including dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The Prince of Wales pub was welcoming and food was good. We will return to stay at Tilford woods,as we have family nearby.
