My stay at The Heritage Hotel Galle Fort was remarkable, with its fantastic location being a highlight. Nestled conveniently close to a variety of restaurants and shops, it offers the ease of exploring Galle's vibrant culture right at your doorstep.
The proximity to the iconic lighthouse and the beaches, just a short walk away, adds to the charm of the hotel. Starting the day with the wonderful breakfast options available was a delight. Moreover, the professionalism of the staff was commendable; they were attentive and ensured a seamless experience throughout my stay.
The combination of location, service, and comfort makes The Heritage Hotel a place I would gladly choose again for future visits to Galle.

Lovely, relaxing hotel in a good central location in the old town, perfect for exploring Galle. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room on the first floor overlooking the central garden area. Really friendly, attentive staff and excellent food, both at breakfast and evening. Lots to like!

A comfortable hotel with a relaxed and friendly feel. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the central area with its pretty Temple Trees. It was a nice size room with very comfortable beds and cosy bedding. A spacious bathroom with a powerful shower was very welcome for a hose down in the morning and after a day out and about. We really enjoyed the breakfast which was a choice of European or Sri Lankan, what a feast, fruit platter, pastries, eggs, toast plus juice, tea and coffee. The only negative was the coffee, I am super fussy and it wasn’t to my liking. Having stayed in many of the hotels in Galle Fort I would definitely choose The Heritage Hotel again. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but friends did and they were impressed with the selection of delicious vegetarian curries. The location is very central on Church Street where a nice choice of restaurants and other hotels are located. The Pasta Factory opposite the gates serves truly authentic Italian fare. For a Latte or Cappuccino fix it has to be Fort Bazzar on Church Street. Thank You to the lovely restaurant breakfast staff who brought me breakfast to the room when I felt unwell one morning.

We were booked at another hotel within Galle Fort which told us they had double booked and there was no room for us for one night - so The Heritage was our second choice. We liked the place so much we cancelled the first hotel we had booked and stayed at The Heritage for our entire holiday. Its a quiet, clean, spacious hotel with wonderfully warm and friendly staff. Our room was large with probably the largest bed we had ever slept on and the bathroom was also spacious. We loved the huge veranda with comfy lounge chairs, a perfect place for reading and chilling. On site free parking is a huge bonus for a hotel inside the Fort. The food is very good and the Sri Lankan coffee is excellent. The lovely garden with Araliya trees next to the dining area is very relaxing. The spa is small but the therapists are excellent and the prices are reasonable. We had to check out early and the staff were very accommodating, making sure we had an excellent early breakfast before departure. The location of the hotel is great, very central to many restaurants, shops, the ramparts and all the other attractions of the beautiful Galle Fort. We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel and we will definitely be back.

We were recently meant to stay at the heritage hotel for 1 night, but unfortunately the room had issues. The manager was very accomodating and already found us another hotel to stay at. The room was lovely and spacious. He also gave us a bottle of wine and encouraged us to come for lunch and dinner. He made good of a bad situation, which we are very grateful of. Definitely recommend this hotel for the service and hospitality.

We stayed here for two nights and we highly recommend staying within the fort walls. The gorgeous cobble stone streets can then be well explored day and night. This hotel is very sweet and the rooms are well appointed. The large verandah was a perfect spot to read a book or watch the rain. Breakfast was served rather than a buffet - this did not bother us and the food was plentiful and delicious. We did miss a pool to cool off in, later in the day but we went over to the beach at the lighthouse to cool off and it worked well. The only negative we have is that the 2nd night we stayed there was a function in the open air restaurant right below our room. It went until past 3am and had speakers playing a religious chant every 3 seconds from early evening - we didnt sleep at all. We understand that it was a religious expectation but a warning or apology would have been nice. The fort itself is so beautiful- excellent restaurants and shops and character everywhere. Get here soon before the tourism takes over. It would be even better if the fort walls we maintained a bit better (ie there was a bit too much rubbish around the ancient sites (the streets were very clean though)
