Hotels near Amalur in Gijon

Hubby and i stayed for a week while visiting my family.I cant fault anything in this hotel. Rooms are super clean, bit of a perfect mix between old fashion and modern. All the staff is great, very professional. Breakfast was excellent. There is no coffee shop or bar, but lots of options in the center of Gijón, so thats not a problem. We will be coming back.

Hotel Alda Pasaja is located on a busy street with a lot of traffic, right at the centre. The outdoor life in the centre is very noisy at night and night, even with windows closed and closures in there is a lot of noise load. The lift, water use of shower, washing table and toilet is also clearly hearable. The hotel has a stopline to load baggage and a street further is a public parking garage. The hotel has a discount code for parking costs €13 per day.

This was my third visit to Gijon, and it won't be my last. A short 1 3/4 hour flight from Gatwick with Vueling, and a 1/2 hour taxi ride from OVD (Asturias) Airport and I was in town. The hotel reception staff were attentive from check-in to check-out, even helping out with a minor injury! The hotel room was spotless, with plenty of storage space, writing desk and a comfy bed. The ensuite was A1, with excellent shower and other accessories including a hairdryer and even a bidet (unused...!). The continental breakfast was fine and as expected, delicious coffee!! Gijon is not a large town but offers plenty. The expansive San Lorenso beach front with a huge promenade, makes an ideal surf beach which isn't ideal for small children, but behind the bay is another beach, near the marina, which is ideal for younger families. The restaurants, oh the restaurants... I ate two large meals a day and never at the same restaurant twice, all very reasonably priced one clear recommendation is the Fabada, a basic meal comprising of beans, with chorizo and pork (or clam), with flavours you'll never have enjoyed before! I was impressed with the entrance lobby on arrival, it has a wonderful smell and a cozy relaxing lounge area (without bar). I had booked a standard double room, which was a very large room with windows which you could open. It was an internal facing room, quiet and away from the main road, but no view to speak of. Although a double room, there was only one chair, 2 would have been good. The room was clean and fresh, white painted walls, but no character or personality. The bathroom was large as well, with a walk in shower and double sinks. Although the water did tend to leak from the shower to the bathroom floor. Nice shampoo/conditioner/gel in the shower - but no body lotion. Nice large fluffy towels and hairdryer with diffuser, but you had to keep a finger on the button to keep the hairdryer on, a bit awkward when trying to dry your hair. There was no mirror in the bedroom, only 2 above the sinks, neither were full length. I requested an iron and it was delivered to the room immediately, with travel ironing-board. I feel more could be done with the lounge area, this is where breakfast is taken. The tea/coffee machine sits there all day, perhaps make it available to guests free of charge during the day? The standard room had no tea/coffee making facilities. The reception staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel was located close to many restaurants/bars. Overall I felt the price I paid was not entirely worth it. I was expecting something with a bit of a wow factor.

The friendly and nice staff willing to solve any problems that arise in the very clean room the phenomenal breakfast and the customer treatment in this case to us exceptional, The hotel has a restaurant cafeteria that you eat very well and cheap, especially the hotel I give you a 10 out of 10 for the deal to me I am disabled and I am on wheelchair and everything has gone very well, there has been no barrier or obstacle to Me.

All in all, we found this hotel to be impressive, all rooms are clean, tidy, beautiful and correct, the hotel is well located about 15m from the old town. For ”but”, I will introduce the following. When arriving at the reception, the girl who attended our meeting (by the way, very beautiful) explained that if we want to eat breakfast and enjoy a 9 euro discount, then we can hire him the day before because it is 18 euros. In general, we went out for dinner and then returned to the hotel. The next day we wanted to rent breakfast. To our surprise, the boy at the reception told us that in order to benefit from this offer, we must We hired him during our stay and he gave us so angry that we didn't do it because it was not what they told us in the first place. But on the Sunday before leaving, there was another girl at the reception. In order to confirm the true version, we told her what happened and confirmed the version of her first companion. She asked us a thousand apologies. The facts are facts. There is nothing we can do. Could not have breakfast.

We had Ants in our room and they got into our luggage. We stayed there for 5 nights and housekeeping was so poor they didn’t even notice. We complained about it on the last day and were informed the GM would message us with explanation and apology but 4 days later no message. Breakfast service is unacceptable. Servers were rude and on two days they claimed to be out of boiled eggs!!! The most basic item on any breakfast menu. Rooms were nice but water pressure was terrible. Highlights were Carla and Sandra on the front desk. They were very helpful and friendly. Do not recommend this property. It’s also completely out of town and if you don’t have a car, be prepared to walk a minimum of 20mins to get into town.

A classic hotel, but suitable for the times. Ms. rooms. Well communicated. Near the sea walk. Buss at the hotel door. Very right staff and especially the right and ameno restaurant staff. To repeat. A very pleasant feeling

I recommend this hotel to everyone. Fun service, cleanliness, good breakfast, location near the promenade, bus station and the city centre. Thanks especially to the staff at the reception. We were stayed earlier than planned. Before the departure, breakfast was served at 6 a.m. I would like to mention a competent marketing and flexible price policy. We were very satisfied.
