Brisas Guardalavaca

This was my second time visiting Brisas and I had an amazing time with my family. It’s such a family oriented hotel with amazing staff. They made our stay so much better and enjoyable. The night shows and kids shows were enjoyed by the little ones in our family and there was always something to do. We really liked staying at the villas and having the separate pool. The a la cart restaurants were delicious. The best part of staying here was that they made you feel like home, all the workers were so wonderful and kind. This was a family trip but I have also sent many clients to this hotel and they have always enjoyed their time. Have been to the Holguin area many times but this was the first time at Brisas. It would be on my go-to list but not number one. Positives: Food was pretty good considering. Always Eggs ( the omlettes may have been powdered but I liked them. Over easy was real eggs. Always butter and bread which was nice to see. Also fixings for salads which was nice. Rooms were adequate. No problems with power. Had no hot water in the room for 2 days but seemed to be limited to our room. Staff were great - always friendly and helpful. Pools also good. Never a problem getting a chair in the shade at pool or beach. Don't think the hotel was at capacity by far. Buffet and A-La_Carte food was limited but adequate for the current conditions. Very nice to have the walkway by the beach. Can walk all the way to the end of the Muthu beach. Also nice that the beach is the same level as the pool area. No cliffs or stairs. Nice to have bikes available and included. Negatives: The beach, while acceptable was not as good as others in the area. Could not go out very far before getting into sea**** and rocks. hard to ocean swim. No "pop" at all for the whole week. So need to be creative with drinks, No rum and cokes or cuba libres for example. Buffet area is a bit worn and dated. If you're an early to bed person, might consider NOT getting oceanview. Every night very loud at the theater and pool. Demographic was probably 50% cubans. No problem with that but expect things to be a bit noisier, even in a-la cartes sometimes. just an observation. Most of the week - had only one room key as they ran out. Also most of the week, could not use the safe as they had no key mechanisms. All in all, for the price, it was good value and would return.

We loved this resort! Despite all the supply chain struggles Cuba is facing, there was never a shortage of food or drinks on the resort - there was always a variety of food options between the Cuban grill for breakfast and lunch, the buffet for all meals and the patio for lunch. The staff here are phenomenal and really make the overall experience. We booked Oceanview VIP - the room was a great size and comfortable. A few things we didn't love, but didn't impact our overall experience: the ocean view rooms face the pool as well, so you hear the evening show/party noise, there wasn't any non-sugary drink options outside of beer (sparkling water is extremely hard to come by right now) and the bathroom door didn't latch well or have a fan.

Just happy to be back at Brisas Guardalavaca. I enjoyed the sun, the food, the entertainment l, the service is amazing and the people very friendly. We won't miss the 30th anniversary parties.

It is very nice place to share with friends. The first day of the meeting was interesting. We had made new friends. Jessica, the waitress was very nice and friendly. We loved it

Just back from a two week stay at Brisas Guardalavaca, (April 3 - 17). We are among a group of tennis players who come to Brisas resort for the sand, the sun, the entertainment and of course the tennis. This resort is very welcoming and it's staff from management to wait staff to gardeners and cleaning staff are among the nicest people you might ever encounter. This resort keeps us coming back year after year, and it remains in our hearts and minds. We look with anticipation to our next vacation at Brisas Guardalavaca.
