The front staff are very friendly and attentive. The sheets on the bed had a hole in them. Ate breakfast in the restaurant, the staff was inattentive. The foods taste was poor. We had to get up to leave to get the bill. We were the only ones in the restaurant other than one other table. The room was average in size and amenities.

This hotel was too cool especially for where it is! That’s why I gave it 5 stars - for Perry it is the best of the best. All of the history and decor was amazing. We stayed in the travel suite as 3 adults and it was plenty of space and so comfortable. The squirrel bathtub was my favorite thing ever but just such a unique hotel to experience. Had an amazing breakfast at the hotel on our last day - excellent mimosa and awesome skillets. The only feedback I have is on cleanliness - the room just felt a bit dusty and neglected in spaces. Also the hospitality isn’t over the top - never greeted or acknowledged by front desk but it was very quiet. I would definitely come back if ever in the area again.

This hotel was an unexpected delight! Everything was charming, from the pleasing lobby scent to the friendly staff to the cute, three-legged dog overseeing the bicycle storage area. Our room (301, the Travel Suite) was very comfortable and whimsically decorated, with details such as a hand-painted headboard and squirrel-themed bathroom tile. Even the view of the hotel roof from our window was an enchanting scene. We went to Iowa to bike the High Trestle Trail, and we're glad we stumbled onto this fun hotel in the process!

Magnificent 19th century hotel with beautiful amenities, a great cafe and wonderful staff. The interior woodwork, furnishings and detailed painting are far beyond today's hotel chains. Reminds you of the great hotels of a bygone era. An amazing experience worth the visit. We stayed as part of a cycling trip on the High Testle/Racoon River Valley Trails. Indoor bicycle storage area is great. We plan on returning in the winter for a suite with wood burning fireplace. Charm, class and calm. It's all here.

Hotel Pattee is a historic boutique hotel which has been beautifully renovated in the small town of Perry, Iowa. We were wowed from the lobby to our room. The hotel has 40 rooms, all decorated in a different theme. You can select your own room by calling the hotel. Check out their website for photos and descriptions of the rooms. We stayed in the Italian Room which featured dark wood furniture, an iron bed, heavy drapery and artwork resembling an Italian Villa. The artwork included glass pieces from Italy in its own little niche. (There’s also a Pinocchio figure above the toilet, which can be a little intimidating for males). The bed was comfortable and our room was quiet. My husband’s only “complaint” was that the TV was small, but we didn’t watch much TV. In fact, my husband liked the hotel so much that he wants to return to Iowa just to stay at Hotel Pattee. The hotel has a restaurant on-site (very good) as well as a bowling alley, library and fitness center. Other than the restaurant, we did not take advantage of the other amenities. The hotel rates (used a AAA discount) were very reasonable and parking was free behind the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

This hotel is so beautiful. If you appreciate architecture and design this is a must see. We went to the farm and progress show and found this gem within 30 minutes of the show. The woodwork and artwork in the hotel are fantastic. It hqs a quaint a**osphere with fireplace , library, bar and even a 2 lane bowling alley. The town is quaint and the people are friendly. If you are going to Boone IA or anywhere near Perry and need a place to stay i would recommend this hotel

Have always wanted to see and stay at this special hotel that opened in 1913. All of the woodwork and the whole hotel is in perfect shape. We stayed in the king Italian Room and it was very clean & quiet. Large up to date bathroom. No fridge or microwave but ice is provided on each floor. The 2 lane bowling alley and workout room downstairs are very nice. We didn’t eat at the restaurant. They give a generous discount to AARP members. Recommend experiencing this gem.

We first visited the Hotel Pattee some 15+ years ago after winning a bid for a trip there at a charity auction. We had never heard of it, but the brochure about the hotel piqued our interest. And we've been going back since. It is truly a unique place with accommodations with "themed" (but not cheesy) rooms that can make each stay truly unique. I'd encourage you to visit their website to see a sample of just how special it is, although the pictures don't really do it justice. Our latest visit was for our 25th anniversary, and it truly made it a special occasion. Perry Iowa a destination? You should make it one, the Hotel Pattee is one of a kind, and its' location is part of its' charm.
