Marks Place Moorea

Marks place is an incredibly well situated cute group of small cabins that in other circumstances would’ve been fabulous. Mark started off our stay with a lovely and warm attitude - was helpful and provided lots of information. Unfortunately on the day of our check out my partner left me to settle up the bill for electricity whilst he returned our e-scooter. I was surprised by the cost of the electricity and voiced this to Mark (in a thought was a somewhat jovial manner) - he absolutely lost it and started shouting at me alongside calling me names. My partner returned to find me in tears and when he questioned Mark on what had happened Mark then threatened to ‘take him outside’ alongside another round of insults and shouting across the gardens. Completely unprofessional way to run a business and I see from a read of reviews this morning that this is unfortunately not the first time. Would definelty not feel safe or respected here and would not recommend to a friend. Such a pity as Moorea is beautiful - lots of other stays in same area!

Mark's Place is a very special spot on Mo'orea. Mark was there to welcome my two friends and I the moment we arrived and made sure to put in extra effort to make sure we had the best accommodations, even when we extended our stay by two extra nights! Mark walked us through his treasure map of the island and pointed out spots for us to visit that exceeded our expectations. Our bungalow was well stocked and very comfortable. During the days we stayed, my group took kayaks out to the sandbar right across the street to to snorkel and check out the mind-blowing crystal clear blue water with all the sea creatures it had to offer. Mark even got us geared up with surfboards to go have a blast surfing Ha'apiti, which is an amazing wave with kind locals. I would have stayed twice as long if my schedule allowed it. I cannot wait to return to Mo'orea to stay here again! Mark's Place is a true Polynesian Garden of Eden.

Mark is a total Brosif, cool AF

Mark’s place is lovely.. It’s clean, comfortable, beautiful, spacious, quiet except the sound of nature which is a plus for me. The staff is helpful. Mark is super hospitable. He makes sure your stay is comfortable. He offers a lot of travel tips and an easy map of sightseeing landmarks. He and his place absolutely made my trip very memorable. The mountains adjacent to his property are everything. Kayaks are available for rent. Coconut water from the coconut - not bottled stuff - is available for purchase. Thanks Mark and all your helpful staff for everything! I am so pleased I stayed there.

This place is full of charm. Mark is an amazing host, very generous, very enthusiastic, very helpful. He has lots of kayak, paddles, snorkeling accessories . The rooms are clean, colorful, with kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay at Mark’s place .

Mark is an amazing, welcoming guy who has created a way for folks to stay in Moorea economically. His bungalows are neat, beautifully built, colorful, private, and have everything in working order for you to enjoy your stay on the island. We had so many questions from our first time being there and as a nearly 40 year resident, Mark is a great resource for everything. He offers wonderful advice, even when it means you may patronize a neighbor. He mostly wants you to have the greatest time of your life.

Mark’s Place in Ha’apiti, Moorea is an amazing Tahitian surf experience. Mark himself is a true renaissance craftsman with a diverse variety of Fare accommodations. The kitchens are ideal for creating gourmet meals with fresh baguettes and Ahi tuna. The clean and well lighted bathrooms and warm water showers are airy yet private. His welcoming personality and knowledge of the local culture are only surpassed by his smile and generosity. Always willing to share insights for waterfall hikes and adventures beyond his beloved valley. His architectural structures offer relaxation for single travelers to larger groups. The beautiful grounds are abundant with fruiting and flowering native plants and palms. After travelling the world and the seven seas we will always return to Mark’s Place to roll kayaks out to clean, spinner dolphin laden surf. A must stop on the intrepid wave rider itinerary.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Honestly the best place we stayed in our 3 months travelling across French Polynesia. Mark and the team are super friendly, and will make sure you have the best time, whether its surfing, hiking, etc. Mark has lived on the island for 40+ years and knows exactly where to go and what to do! Also loved the accommodation (hand build furniture !) and in a beautiful setting. Please don't change - we'll be back. Cheers Mark - Alex from England.
