Haikou Marriott Hotel

The hotel is quite large and well-located. They even upgraded my room, which was a pleasant surprise. Any issues I had were addressed promptly and enthusiastically. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the pool was very comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and tasted great.

We stayed here for a trade show. The hotel offers butler service, and our butler, Fiona, was always available online to answer our questions during our stay. Compared to the beach resort vibe of Sheraton, this Marriott has a more business-oriented feel, largely due to its massive convention center and duty-free shop nearby. As the only international chain hotel in the vicinity of the convention center and duty-free shop, it seems they never lack guests. The hotel's style is quite distinctive, featuring a standard Chinese retro design, especially in the lobby area with its high-hanging red lanterns, which gives a festive touch and contrasts sharply with typical seaside resorts. The hotel also has an executive lounge, which is a nice perk for members. One notable feature is the hotel's north-south ventilation design, which is excellent. The open ventilation system in both the lobby and rooms is very unique. We were upgraded to a sea-view room. Breakfast is served at the Fish Bar restaurant below the lobby, offering a wide variety of options. While there weren't any standout 'signature dishes,' it was more than sufficient to fill up. The freshly made pan-fried buns and rice noodle rolls were quite popular. Judging by the number of people at breakfast, the hotel seems to have a good occupancy rate, attracting both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is equipped with a gym and an outdoor swimming pool, which also includes a hot spring pool. The environment is pleasant, though the area is not very large and can get crowded during peak hours. However, the seaside promenade outside the hotel is also an excellent place for fitness and relaxation. The Chinese retro style of the hotel lobby is very atmospheric, and the executive lounge was a great solution for dinner. Its proximity to the convention center and CDF International Duty-Free City makes it an excellent choice for those planning to shop at the duty-free store. The hotel is relatively close to Haikou Station and about a half-hour drive from the airport, making it generally convenient.

This hotel was by far the most satisfying I've stayed at during my time in Hainan. Service: Absolutely outstanding. I was very impressed with Butler Anthony and all the other staff. It's truly the only hotel in Hainan where everyone genuinely smiles. After so many nights in different Hainan hotels, this was the only one where you couldn't find a single fault with the service. Cleanliness: Excellent. I actually checked out of the Sheraton early because I wasn't happy there and came to the Marriott. The housekeeping here is impeccable; you won't find a speck of dust even in the corners. Facilities: The hotel's public areas are a bit small, and the beach is somewhat disappointing and a bit far. The pool and hot springs are decent. However, for a couple's getaway, the rooms are very comfortable. There were quite a few children in the public areas, but that's just other guests enjoying themselves, and the hotel can't really do anything about it. The hotel is massive; it would be great if they provided balancing scooters. What's more, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained; you wouldn't guess it opened in 2014. Coincidentally, the Consumer Expo was happening, so there were some traffic controls, but it didn't affect hotel guests at all.

My experience at the Haikou Marriott Hotel was absolutely fantastic, and I have to give a special shout-out to our butler, Anthony! His service was professional and incredibly thoughtful. He proactively reached out before our check-in to understand our needs, provided clear guidance throughout our arrival, and was always quick to respond to any request we had. He even shared some great local travel tips, showing incredible attention to detail that made us feel so welcome. The entire stay was comfortable and felt just like home. Highly recommended!

Excellent value for money! A special thank you to our butler, Fiona, who was incredibly attentive and thoughtful from check-in to check-out. She proactively helped us plan our itinerary and patiently responded to our needs late into the night. The room offered a stunning sea view, the bedding was comfortable, and the food was authentic. The Haikou Marriott Hotel is definitely a five-star establishment. It's conveniently located next to the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, which provides a steady stream of guests through various annual exhibitions. The hotel's decor is a sophisticated and tasteful 'New Chinese' style.

My trip to Haikou was made so comfortable by staying at the Marriott. It was a solid, relaxing five-star experience. The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk to the sea. Both the gardens and rooms are clean and elegant, making for a very pleasant stay. Although the hotel is a bit older and some of the facilities are showing their age, the service overall felt very natural and unforced. The front desk and all other departments were attentive, efficient, and always ready to help without being intrusive. I especially want to mention our butler, LA-Michelle, who proactively contacted us before check-in to ask about our needs and even helped upgrade our room. During our stay, she patiently and thoroughly answered any questions we had, without any perfunctory responses. Her service was excellent, but not over-the-top, which made us feel very comfortable. Overall, the hotel maintains high quality, and the service is thoughtful and appropriate, with no frills – just genuine hospitality. I'll likely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Haikou.

The hotel's location is great, with a lovely seaside promenade right behind it, perfect for a walk or bike ride. There's also a lively night market in the evenings. The hotel breakfast is very generous, and a big thank you to Fiona for her excellent and attentive service throughout our stay.

The hotel faces the sea with a great location, close to the duty-free shop and shopping mall. The room layout is very comfortable, and the higher the floor, the better the view. You can walk to the beach in no time. The hotel also has various green plants in its garden, and the area near the beach is quite picturesque. There's also a free shuttle bus to the duty-free shop. A special shout-out to my butler, Serena, who provided warm, thoughtful, and prompt service during my stay, making the entire check-in process easy and pleasant. The experience was perfect!
