Huangma Holiday Nanyang Museum Hotel (Hailu Qilou Old Street)

The overall decor is quite interesting, with a Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style, and there's a large wooden boat model right outside the room door. The room itself is spacious and generally clean, though some of the facilities are a bit old, but still perfectly functional. While there is a balcony, it faces an old residential area, so there's no view to speak of. The staff are very enthusiastic, and the small museum near the front desk, though not huge, is quite engaging for a quick stroll. The main thing is that the price is quite reasonable, so overall, I'm pretty satisfied.

This hotel is really hard to rate. The location is excellent, right by Qilou Old Street, but the building is a bit old, and there are quite a few issues with the facilities. First, the hotel hallways are too hot because of the air conditioning. Second, there are many wooden furnishings, leading to poor air quality and a noticeable smell. Third, the lighting is quite dim, which I personally don't like. ⚠️ On our second night, when we returned to room ①, the sink drain pipe was broken and leaking. We were upgraded to room ② on the same floor, but the room layout was poor, the AC was broken (it didn't cool down after 20 minutes), and the fan was also broken. The room temperature was even hotter than the hallway. We then moved to room ③, where a maintenance worker had just fixed the lights, so there was a strong smell upon entering. Although this room had a large terrace, two AC outdoor units were located right on it, making it very hot. Finally, we settled down in room ④. This whole series of inconveniences really made for a terrible experience 🤬 The service attitude was good; they kept moving us to different rooms. It's just that the rooms are genuinely too old. Initially, I booked this hotel for a family room for three, but due to a change in plans, we switched to a double room. In hindsight, I should have just booked a budget hotel.

The hotel is right near Qilou Old Street, and it's less than a 10-minute walk to the Haikou landmark sign – great for exploring and finding food and entertainment. However, for parking, they should really clarify upfront which parking lots are reimbursable and which aren't. It would save guests a lot of hassle driving in and out; the service could definitely be more user-friendly. Breakfast was decent, but it was so hot! The air conditioning wasn't on, so I was sweating while eating. On the plus side, the room itself was quite clean.

A friend recommended this place. The beautiful transformations of the hotel create a wonderful ambiance. It's super convenient, just 100 meters from Qilou Old Street, and they offer a delicious 'Old Nanyang Coffee'. The service is also very warm and welcoming. It's definitely worth choosing, and it beautifully showcases maritime culture. Absolutely worth experiencing!

This was my second stay in a room with a view, and the scenery outside the window was absolutely delightful. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, responding promptly to all my requests. The entire check-in and check-out process was smooth and pleasant. The hotel consistently maintains a high standard. I genuinely recommend staying here.

This was my first time staying at the Haikou Museum Hotel, and my experience was excellent. Although two days was too short, I got a strong sense of the place. The hotel has a Nanyang style that immediately transported me back to a bygone era, full of nostalgic memories. The facilities are complete, and the nine-grid breakfast was unique and eye-opening. What's more, it's very close to the Qilou Old Street. Five-star rating! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Haikou.

The hotel itself has a very exotic vibe; after checking in, heading to the guest rooms felt like I'd arrived in Southeast Asia. They have a fully equipped laundry room with dryers, which is great for washing clothes after a swim. The package deal was quite a good value, and the travel photoshoot turned out fine overall. It's really suitable for families traveling with children. And the breakfast portions were huge!

This is a really interesting hotel! 👍 It's right next to Qilou Old Street, and you can step out directly onto the pedestrian street, making it super convenient for getting around. The decor is very unique; there's even a huge boat in the common area, which my son loved pretending to be a captain on! 😎 The rooms also feature various Nanyang-style decorations, and even the table is shaped like a boat, which is quite fun. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and there's plenty of hot water. Highly recommend! 🥰
