This is an old-fashioned pub but the rooms were very nice and clean. Albeit somewhat small. There is some noise from the pub downstairs, but it's not too bad and it finished long before I went to bed. Although there's no reception, you can just check in from the bottle shop. The hotel is in a great location for shops, restaurants and cafes. It is a bit of distance from the centre of Newcastle but it's probably a busier area than the centre.
